I chose this hotel because my kids like Old Street. This hotel is located at the heart of Old Street. When you walk out from the hotel, you can find everything you want , including food, shops and entertainments. We booked a twin double beds room for 3D2N and have no complain about the size of the room and the beds. Water pressure is fine and hot water supply is stable.
I think I have mentioned enough about the "goods" of the hotel and you may wish to know its shortcomings. This first thing is its price, not expensive honestly but on the high side if you take its conditions (very dated) and facilities (vurtually none) into consideration. Another thing is its entrance, very difficult to find, and how you get there - by a cargo lift (only one!) which looks very unreliable (it was suspended for a few minutes during my stay in this hotel). When you get up to 6/F, in which the hotel is located, you have to walk through an ultra long Z-shape narrow corridor before you reach your room (maybe we were unlucky to be assigned a room at the far end).
Last thing I want to mention is its concierge, it is completely DIY, i.e. you go into the store room, put your luggages there and leave and go through the same process when you claim your luggages. What's wrong with it? Zero security! The store room is kept open and unattended! You may try your luck, but I won't!
You may ask despite all these why we still booked this hotel. It was an ad hoc trip and the hotel that we used to stay was no longer in operation. Will I return? Well, it depends, mainly on whether I can find an alternative. You may agree that it is a waste of time to travel (even by taxi) for a short trip like this and the location of this hotel is unbeatable.
