Crowne Plaza SHANGHAI HONGQIAO by IHG

Ik ben een vrouw en heb niet zo snel last van de hitte, maar de airconditioning koelde zo slecht dat zelfs op 16 graden het helemaal geen effect had. Ik werd midden in de nacht badend in het zweet wakker. Dat de temperatuurregeling van de airco kapot was, is echt onacceptabel voor een vijfsterrenhotel. Het personeel was wel proactief en wees me een andere kamer toe, maar de airco daar was net zo slecht. Toen brachten ze me een oude, ronkende ventilator. Gelukkig werd het er iets koeler van, maar het was zo'n gedoe. Midden in de nacht verhuizen en dan maar een paar uur slapen.

The Hotel has 3 towers in total and is very close to Hongqiao Railway station and airport . Pro: they serve breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner buffet( with happy hour with alcohol) as compared to other hotels who only provide breakfast buffet for the price. Cons: 1) NO INROOM DINING AND NO MINIBAR. I don’t know why is it difficult to provide these basic amenities despite being and IHG hotel . 2) Also their king size beds are actually queen size , the king premium room assigned was with queen bed and less carpet area. 3) The noise insulation is very weak and I could hear if someone using bathtub or coffee machine, or talking outside my room very clearly . Perhaps hotel can improve on that . 4) The WiFi is very slow and under performative . It needs serious improvement . I gave this rating due to 3 buffets they provide in same price rest is pretty basic for an IHG hotel but no inroom dining and absence of minibar was a major let down from crownplaza. I don’t know why . 😓

Fantastic hotel near Hongqiao Station! Service was excellent, and the food—from breakfast to afternoon tea—was delicious. The authentic western pastries taste like they belong in a luxury resort. Super convenient for travel and highly recommended for families. We will definitely be back!

New and clean hotel near to Hongqiao AirPort. Happened that our kids were having competition at a venue nearby. Convenient for us. Hotel serving breakfast, teatime and Happy hour (all buffet). You don have to worry that you will be hungry Anytime.

I recently stayed here for a business trip and was thoroughly impressed. The hotel clearly understands the needs of business travelers—from the fast check-in process to the well-equipped rooms featuring ergonomic work areas. Its strategic location near the NECC (National Exhibition and Convention Center) and transportation hub saved me a lot of commuting time. The staff were professional, attentive, and always ready to assist. I will definitely choose this hotel again for my future trips.

I received a very warm welcome at this hotel. The room was extremely clean, and the location is perfect: extremely convenient. All the staff were nice, respectful, and friendly.

As a business traveller, i want to ensure to have a good night sleep, a good in-room working experience and good relax moments when I finish a day's work, but this Crown Plaza failed all. The owner and IHG seems to have neglected the fundamental needs if there was a tight budget as the needs are suppose to be the priority. ie. Its preferred to have good aircon system that is guest controllable, sufficient light at working desk, large TV and full black out curtain treatment instead of marble floor, fancy bathroom material, fabric TV wall, felt minibar drawer compartment which are only good if the fundamental needs are fulfilled. So I spent a day and night in a room that is hot, light leakage curtain, small and improportion armchair, dark at working desk etc, the worst was being put in a Hollywood king room with 2 twin beds put together making it extremely big and became so far apart from the bedside tables which was very inconvenient. What i liked was a spacious bathroom and nice. I cannot be bothered to change rooms or complain so i just lived with it, but probably a good reason of not another Crown Plaza in the future.
