Hotel Ca'n Bonico

The buildings and the garden are very beautiful and relaxing. Worthwhile! The welcome by the receptionist however was disappointing. He was obviously not in the mood to welcome new guests and explain functionalities of the house. However, the pool bar staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel room was spacious, but only equipped with the most basic furnishings (no toilet brush, old crumbled coffee and tea bags, lamp shade damaged, etc.). There is no beverage service after 19:00. Unfortunately, there is an obvious lack of eye for details. A pity!

A year later we are sitting in a magnificent Mallorcan hotel and we find ourselves reminiscing about the worst Mallorcan places we've ever stayed in during our 14 trips. And there is only one winner, Can Bonico. It was so awful we couldn't even review it at the time, we didn't know where to start. All the bad reviews are our exact experiences: Room1 ( we are not Fussy, but we'll sound like pain in the ****s, brace yourself:) advertised as with terrace , separate shower and bath. LOL. Teeny room with balcony facing a wall, we could both just about stand on it. In the dark. Shower broken, bathroom filthy. Actual brown stains ... have pics . Had to stay one night, zero sleep. Room2: shown to us by grumpy reception with rolling eyes- its ....nice ish. We're told we were "taking it " from a wheelchair user. Really? Because steps and not accessible bathroom but ok... air conditioning sounds like tractor. Music producer husband records it for the sheer wow factor. Shower stuck permanently only child , as in toddler, could fit under it . No shower door, door of bathroom rotten as result. Bath no plug. Room 3: repeat air con noise, now losing patience, first holiday in years, still haven't slept, wagon on desk aggressive and getting more so. We book another place, they've heard of the problems at can bonico, they will take us. Book taxi. Wagon at front seat says no refund. We've paid for 10 days. Paid extortionately too. Some other guests also unhappy. Other staff sympathetic and sweet. They've seen it all before. I block my credit card cos I have a feeling... she tries to take our money. Discovers block. Says she will call police I say please do, we've a lot to say to them. You've broken contract, this is not as advertised. Suddenly there is another room. Beautiful, big, great bed, super bathroom, quiet air con, a f%^&ING miracle .... nice reception girl is relieved. Other staff congratulate us. Other guests joke with us next morning and we all laugh and agree we'll never stay in this hellhole again. Literally never had such a bad experience. Beautifully kept grounds. Good breakfast. Excellent location. Great parking . Near everything including beaches a short drive. Lovely, really lovely staff apart from you know who .. omg ... shower for pool hidden away so people don't know where it is and so the pool has film of grime every day, gross. There are a few very, very nice rooms, but if you book one, don't assume you'll get it. That's a mistake we made. But then, was that actually our fault??? Ermm .... that's a resounding no. Dishonest advertising. And dear hotel please don't respond. Ugh.

We booked this hotel as the most luxurious, relaxing hotel in the beautifully calm village of Ses Salenes. It met our expectations. Even the bedroom’s air conditioning was whisper quiet. Breakfast was extensive and delicious. Service at breakfast and at the poolside was faultless. It is a small hotel that focuses on guest comfort. The hotel does not serve dinner but that is probably because there is a wealth of very good restaurants within 1 or 2 minutes walk. The only very minor issue I had was checking in when arriving by car. You need to visit reception first to receive a pass for the car park. This could be made clearer in the welcome information email and the website.

On the plus side, the hotel is well positioned in the centre of Ses Salines, and the grounds are lovely. It's also peaceful, and we found the room to be clean. BUT ... 1. When we arrived, we were shown a room with no terrace and a very limited view. We asked for an upgrade to a terrace, and must have been told a dozen times, in our faces, that it would cost 40 euros more per day. Fine. When I ask for an upgrade, I expect to pay. I don't need aggression. Then, we found out that there was no-one to help with bags. In a 4 star hotel? The receptionist made an unwilling offer to send a waiter, but he managed to disappear. My husband ended up carrying the bags twice as far as he would have without any "help". 2. The terrace was very easy to reach from the terraces of the rooms either side (plenty of space to slip round the privacy screen). I had a laptop in the room, and the maid kept leaving the door to the terrace open. Not only was this a security issue, but it allowed the (plentiful) mosquitoes in. When we asked the receptionist to tell her to stop, we were promptly accused (by a different receptionist) of smoking in the room, which we had never done. 3. The third receptionist we met was even less pleasant than the other two. We asked what times the restaurant was open and were told, with a laugh, that it closed two years ago. When my husband asked why there was still a huge, lit "Restaurant" sign on the street, he was told that it was because the boss was clever not to have removed it. We call it dishonest. Would we stay again? No. The hotel's OK, but not one of the staff we met has a clue what hospitality means.

One of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The property looked out of a movie, and the room was clean, updated, and spacious. The staff was also extremely accommodating and friendly. Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Ses Salines!

Loved our stay at the beautiful and tranquil Hotel Ca'n Bonico. Great location for local restaurants, shops, and only a 15 minute drive to all the best beaches in the area. Only small compliant was that we were looking forward to having our laundry done here (as this was the last leg of our trip) and were told that they couldn't guarantee it would be done in the 3 days we were there. We had to look for a laundromat elsewhere. Otherwise, would love to return and couldn't recommend this hotel more. :)

This hotel is absolutely perfect if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing break with excellent restaurants and amenities nearby. The grounds and hotel are beautiful with a big pool and car parking. There is also a bus stop down the road for Palma and Santayni. The rooms are light and airy with a contemporary twist on a finca interior. The choice for breakfast was superb with a great selection of meat, cheeses, bread, fruits, yoghurts and pastries. There were also plenty of alternatives if you have a dietary requirement. The only bad experience we had was towards the end of our holiday there were not enough sunbeds for several of us, forcing us to sit on towels on the grass or patio area in the afternoons. The sunbeds taken were not being used and being hogged by the same couples or ladies either in their rooms or sat in the shade away from the pool. It was a bit of a downer on the end of a beautiful stay.

A wonderful property in the middle of adorable Ses Salines. If you're looking for a restful locale in the middle of chaotic summer in Mallorca, this is the spot. We traveled as a family of four and stayed in one of the terrace rooms that could accomodate us. I was slightly annoyed at the 50E per night up charge for adding one cot, but it was still a good value. Room was clean and efficient. Property was very well kept and swimming in the pool while listening to church bells could not be beat. We didn't eat at the buffet (18Epp) but instead opted for the bakery directly across the street.
