This is a self check-in stay and the communication was abysmal. The property administration never sent us the advance email you typically receive with the check-in details. We arrived at the property and the front door said to 'refer to the email we received' and to 'call this number; in case we needed help, which we were unable to do as we are foreigners and did not have access to a local phone plan while in Iceland. We had to spend over an hour working through ******* who had to call them repeatedly until they finally answered; we know ******* explained our problem to them and they advised how to access our cottage, but we still never heard directly from the property administration after that - no apology or any information about what to expect during our stay. After we finally managed to get into our cottage, we found bugs (dead and alive) all over the place. There was no hand soap in the shared bathrooms, and when we left our own in there for others to use, the cleaner threw it away and still did not refill the soap dispenser. This is a nice-looking cottage on the surface, but we were really disappointed with the lack of attention to detail and the lack of customer service.
