Good local place to stay on Old San Juan. Staff was great, rooms nice. Only complaint was that our room was on the 1st floor where everyone came in through and the bar was right in that area, so it got a bit noisy at times, but after 11:00pm, it got quiet

My partner and I booked a stay here for two nights at the beginning of our first ever trip to Puerto Rico. We got into San Juan airport early in the evening of Valentine's Day, and it was very easy to get a taxi to Decanter Hotel. We were also able to get into the roof top bar for a romantic dinner that evening. The views, food, drinks, and ambiance were excellent!
The location of this hotel in the heart of Old San Juan is incredibly convenient. Spending a day exploring the historic city and forts was incredibly fun. It was easy to find places to get breakfast lunch and dinner near this hotel. This was a great base for our adventures.
When it was time to head back to the airport and pick up a rental car for the rest of our adventures on the island of Puerto Rico, it was very easy and convenient. The staff at the hotel were awesome. We would definitely be excited to stay here again!

I didn’t like checking a bag that’s left in a common area.
I liked the cappuccino machine. Check-in staff was very good.

Great hotel in the middle of Old San Juan with a take on wine. In the middle of everything, very walkable to everything and very clean, comfy rooms. We got the queen with the terrace which was great in the evening and the morning watching the parrots fly around. Best part was the staff. Met all 3 shifts and all of them, where helpful, happy, and upbeat. Would definitely stay here again. Don't take a car down here. Uber or taxi.

The staff were a delight! Friendly and helpful. The roof top view was beautiful. It was our go-to place for coffee in the morning. Too bad the bar is open only Thurs-Sun. Ditto for the restaurant. The room lighting was dark, which made it difficult to read at night.

The Decanter was wonderful however there was a plumbing issue. The staff was fabulous and really went out of their way to get us room in another hotel. It was very very nice just not in old san juan. Super nice Hilton and brand new. Wish we could have stayed with our friends. But again the decanter staff went out of their way to make us happy and we really appreciate the effort. We are returning to the decanter later in the week for an overnight stay.

The location is great. The front desk staff were helpful especially Francisco (the restaurants he recommended were great). But the house cleaners and staff of maintenance depar**ent were not be complimented. We stayed for 5 nights. On the 2nd day, the fan stopped working, and we reported on the 3rd day, but until our departure, it was not fixed. The house cleaners cleaned everything but there were always dusts on the floor. On the last day of our stay, there were no refill of water; no refill for bath tissue; no refill of shampoo; there was water on the bathroom counter; no replacement for the glasses. Being the guests, we always made the beds and organized our goods, and if the garbage bags were full we took them out. San Juan is a pleasant place to visit. But the stay in the Decanter Hotel was not impressive.

This was our 2nd stay with Decanter. Hotel staff were extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. We’d like to thank several people - Francisco/Saturday night - and Rosa - Sunday day. They spoke with supervisors and the hotel owner on Saturday night and Sunday day regarding an issue we had on Saturday night. The hotel owner graciously allowed us to move to a unit on the 3rd floor - for the same room rate. The hotel was fully booked and we truly appreciated the accommodation of the move. We highly recommend this hotel!

We paid top dollar for this room. We had one tiny window high up. Outside our room was an atrium from which lots of noise from the bar below continued until late in the night. The location is quite good. I have stayed in many hotels in San Juan. I was disappointed.
