Hotel Point Loma

Check-in went very well. The clerk was friendly, courteous, and professional. The room was very clean. Two Queen beds were expected in our room... not as advertised! Both beds were King/Queen in length only & Full in width! No closet, or somewhere to hang clothes; not even a luggage rack. There was microwave, but no table and/or chairs to eat meal. Paint on the bathroom door is peeling very much... it looks terrible. The lampshade on the nightstand is loose--because nothing is holding it down to the screw on the lampshade frame.

Very clean rooms and recently renovated it seemed. Definitely higher quality for an affordable rate. The area is much nicer then staying close to the airport on the opposite end closer to downtown. Less homeless and crime. Loads of restaurants and shopping. Also, just a block away from fisherman’s wharf.

Everything was great. The wifi password was confusing and the office hours were not convenient to resolve this. The parking lot was too small and had to park on the street. There was mildew under the bathroom sink. Otherwise it was clean, safe, quiet, perfect for my needs.

They listed the room as 2 queen beds. It was 2 twin beds. 8 talked to the gentleman at the front desk and he said all their beds are that size. I even measured it to prove that they are twin beds and he didn't care. They charge 180 worth of fees when you show up too. There are about 7/8 on-site parking spots in the lot. The rest is street parking.

I booked a room, it looked okay on *******. When I arrived I was told my room is "over there, around the corner to the right." It was in an alleyway that looked super unsafe. Had a no tell motel vibe. The room was very small, not even a chair to sit in or small table but a huge dresser lol. the kitchenette lacked pans and silverware, glasses and cups. Basically, this room was nothing like what I saw in the add. So after 30 minutes I cancelled and left. I felt that I was mislead, that the location of the room was super sketch and knew that it was going to be an unenjoyable stay. I asked ******* to negotiate with the owners for a refund even if partial. Pt Loma Hotel refused any compensation even though I never stayed there. Moving forward, I will deal with with my credit card company. My advice, don't stay here even in a pinch and if you think it couldn't be that bad see for yourself before you pay. I would not have stayed in the room they gave me even if it was free.

I loved the staff and they were very accommodating. The room was clean and if u want to do a later check out they qill do thier best to make sure everything can be possible. The gueat on the top floor werent so much of a big help but it qill do. Probably get a room in the upstairs next time.

The room was decent. However, the staff tried to charge extra money for a deposit until I caught their malicious intent. The cleaning staff were friendly However management on property were not friendly.

Not bad except blanket is too thin and heater is not warm. It was too cold to sleep well at night. No hangers to hang a jacket or cloth.

Overall the property needs a face lift. There's good potential in making this hotel that small & quaint place to stay. The upstairs balcony can fit some outdoor furniture with outdoor lighting lamps. The room that I was in was large for one person, however, there was no closet, dresser, desk with chair to study. The lamp shade was missing its swivel , thus causing the shade to fall off. The bathroom definitely needs alot of improvement.
