The hotel itself is great, super nice staff, comfortable room and good shower. The neighborhood lacks desirable food options. If you walk 5-6 blocks toward the train station you find good options but if you walk in any other direction I didn't find much.

We stayed here the night before a trek and also for a few nights afterwards so we could explore Riobamba. Availability allowed them to be flexible the second time so we switched to a lighter room at the back which had an internal balcony overlooking the garden. Oscar on reception was welcoming, friendly and very helpful. He stored luggage safely for us while we were on the trek and later loaned me a laptop so I could back up my many photos (important to me!). He even arranged for the restaurant next door to open sooner for breakfasts when we needed to head off early. The hotel laundry service was good and quick. The rooms had Netflix etc as well as the usual TV channels.

The public areas of this place are beautiful, and the location is good near places to eat and shop. The downside was my room, which was very depressing. The windows overlooked the hallway, it smelled like mildew and there was mildew all over the bathroom. When I was taking a shower sewer-smelling water backflowed in so I was standing in it. I walked past nicer looking rooms that no one was using as I was one of the few guests in the hotel, it's unfortunate they didn't offer to put me in a better room.

La ubicación del hotel es muy buena. Para el desayuno te derivan al restobar de a lado, y las opciones no son muy buenas que se diga, es el mismo desayuno todos los días y a mí no me gustó para nada, se nota que contratan el desayuno más barato y básico. La habitación que me dieron si bien es cierto fue cómoda para aguantar el frío, es muy básico, no tenía certeza de que la tela colgada de la puerta impidiera a otros ver en la habitación. Sentía ácaros en la cama.
