Nice hotel near the airport with solid breakfast and amenities. If you don’t speak Portuguese, the staff is able to accommodate you in English. The TV only had less than half the channels listed on the guide which was odd. This being Salvador, urban planning is a nightmare. Although the airport is very close, you have to drive a long ways in the wrong direction and circle back around to get to the airport. Be sure to plan accordingly.

I booked 3 rooms for myself and my family. My niece arrived early and was able to check into her room with no issues. My parents arrived at 11:30pm and encountered a huge line. When it was finally their turn and they were given a key, they were given the key to an occupied room. Besides the embarrassment of walking into another guest, they had to come back downstairs, wait again and hope they were given a key to an empty room. I arrived at 1am and proceed into walking into not one, not two but FOUR occupied rooms. When I was finally granted the right of an empty room (by the way not the room I booked, but at this point I just want a bed) there wasn’t even a water bottle in the room, as if it wasn’t quite ready to receive guests.. And as you can imagine, if I walked into 4 different guests someone arriving later was going to walk into me, that happened around 3:00am. The hotel is new, the facilities are fine, bfast was good. But OMG figure out your booking system, especially for guests that fully paid in advance. Worst hotel experience of my life.

I gave 5 star for the property but we were not happy that the check in took 45 minutes. Staff was nice but we were in line waiting to check in for a long time.

The Novotel Salvador Hangar Aeroporto best features are its location near the airport, newer facilities than most properties in Salvador, and it operates under the ACCOR hotel brand. Despite these advantages, I must report a unacceptable experience during my stay December 28th to 31st 2022 followed by deplorable managerial customer service in response to verified and documented service failures. I have reported these issues to my travel agency, my corporate travel unit, and my personal travel networks. As I discovered this property using Trip Advisor, I have decided to report this matter for the benefit of my fellow readers. I do not recommend this property for business travelers nor cultural tourism travelers (especially not those seeking afro-Brazilian tourism or those welcoming to the African diaspora). I share some reasons herein: • Unreliable Service: During my stay I experienced one major internet outage over six business hours, as well as minor room outages (less than 30 minutes) on each day of my stay. This hotel was advertised as catering to business travelers, but the hotel provided no updates when internet would be restored despite repeated requests. I did not receive any support to manage the disruption to my teleworking, and personnel were unable/unwilling to facilitate solutions (At one point, I was recommended to use the free internet of one of the shopping malls. Imagine carrying expensive computer equipment to what my taxi driver warned was a “high crime” area). Sadly, the ability of the reception staff to identify solutions was more unreliable than the internet service. • Poor Room Quality: This hotel advertises rooms of high standards of quality, and I am sure many receive good rooms. However, I received a room that was both substandard quality (bathroom sidings and interior furniture water damaged, door malfunction, refrigerator malfunction) and pollutted by the buildings HVAC exhaust being poorly designed, allowing exhaust to flow against rooms on the lower floor (high noise pollution noticeable when sleeping). I believe most guests do not have this experience, as the issue likely affects few rooms on the lower floors. However, when choosing this property, one must ask the question, how does the receptionist decide who receives these rooms which experience high dust inflow and high noise pollution (I have videos and photos available upon request). Why are some customers placed in quality rooms, and others assigned to substandard rooms (noting the hotel has standard room types based on bed requirements)? Why did this hotel property assume that one of their few afro-descendent customers would accept the worst room in the property? • Deplorable Managerial Level Customer Service: Upon checkout, a customer service representative noted my dissatisfaction with my hotel experience, and asked if I would be willing to receive inquires from hotel management the next business day. Salvador isn’t really on the tourism radar but it is a gateway to places that are, such as Chapada Diamantina National Park. We overnighted at the Novotel Aeroporto Hangar, a $US12 taxi ride from the airport. This relatively expensive hotel ($US120) is worth the price. There is nothing that can be said against it. Everything is where it should be and everything works. The room is a decent size with a large bed, nice bathroom and good water pressure from the shower. An excellent breakfast is included. There is a restaurant onsite and a large supermarket next door if you require any snacks or supplies for onward travel. There are taxis at the door. The service overall is excellent. For anyone heading to Salvador, this hotel is a superb choice for accommodation. Check out my other reviews of places, hotels and experiences throughout South America.

I stayed here for almost two weeks, during which I experienced a good attitude related with the service that were provided. I'm rating this experience with 5/5. I was attended very good by: Magno, Fred, Eva, Gabriel and Gleidson. The food was also very good and tasty.
