Big and confortable room with view on the magnificent swimmingpool Great breakfast Lovely staff Very well located : near to the train station (5min on foot) and close to the beach (2min on foot) and close to the nicest Spaggias (66, 71, etc). Very close to the main shopping street (1min on foot) I had a very lovely stay in Riccione thanks to Grand Hotel des Bains.

What a special hotel, we arrived at lunchtime and checked in, back room 3rd floor. It was to say the least underwhelming and not what we expected. A quick trip to reception, €150 a night extra and we were upgraded to a suite over looking the pool, floor two apparently the 2nd best room. The room was very nice, however what makes this Hotel is the extremely high level of service and courteousness by all staff. Especially the young man in the bar area from three in the afternoon in the swimming pool and evening bar. Breakfast service excellent, if I had one criticism it was that evening service in the main restaurant was too quick. A meal should be an enjoyable experience and not a rushed one, we had just swallowed each time the next course came and the restaurant was only 50% full. Will I return next year,of course I will but only to the same room!!

I wanted to share a story, how my necklace was stolen from the room by one of the maids. If you are traveling here, make sure your valuable belongings are always with you (because even the safe in the closet does not protect your things).

Lovely hotel, 5 star service and beautiful inside. You really feel like it’s a 5 start hotel lathered in marble. The staff are extremely helpful, professional and super friendly

We stayed at this hotel for a week and I think it was one of the best holiday stays I've ever had. The hotel itself is very nice and the courtyard gives it a communal atmosphere - I think summer here would be very nice. The hotel provides a swimming pool with spa and hammam, and the bar is very comfortable, with incredibly nice and attentive staff. The room we stayed in was very clean and spacous and felt like it was recently renovated. The position of the hotel is very close to the beach as well as some great restaurants and patisseries. Over all I would highly recommend the Grand Hotel Des Bains as one of the best stays in La Rochelle!

It was the most enjoyable stay, thanks to the outstanding Receptionist Andrea Cozza! He was extremely helpful, friendly and accomodating. In my opinion, Andrea is the best trained and most professional Receptionist I have ever dealt with in a 5 Star Hotel. He is really exceptional.
