In Camera Art Boutique Hotel

We spent several nights in the Places in Suspension villa- we truly enjoyed ourselves and the staff, and only wish we stayed longer. If we return to Rhodes, this is where we'll stay! George who greeted us and took us into the Old City from our parking spot just outside was a great and proactive communicator, even calling us in the morning to ensure that we were coming down before their friendly cook wrapped up her custom service. He also made arrangements for a private tour of the Ancient City with a talented guide whose price was a fraction of what we would have paid for 3 of us to join a group tour. The complex of suites and villa have been skillfully restored and look like they've been in place for hundreds of years. Its not located in a back-alleyway as are many properties but sits on a square that makes it seem more open and inviting. Our villa was extraordinarily spacious, and finding a washing machine was a pleasant surprise. The two balconies provided broad, relaxing vistas and the interior was well-appointed and very comfortable. While we only occupied 2 of the 3 bedrooms, we shifted from the master bedroom after one night to one of the spacious upstairs bedrooms as we found the platform bed a bit hard for our liking. Breakfasts were great with several daily specials, whether crepes, savory pancakes or traditional eggs, in addition to freshly squeezed orange juice from the farm of a relative of the owner. Just GO!

We stayed three nights in the Places of Suspension villa and had a delightful experience. From check-in to assistance with reservations and car rental, Marios was incredibly helpful and attentive. The rooms well clean, comfortable and uniquely furnished with plenty of room for our family to spread out. Two patios had gorgeous views and at night you could hear the lively music from the restaurant across the way. Get the breakfast - you won’t be disappointed. The location was in a less crowded part of the old city and always felt private. When the cruise ships left late afternoon, it felt like a secret city that we enjoyed immensely.

Best hotel in the Old Town of Rhodes! We stayed there for the third time at the beginning of May and even booked a fourth stay for later in the year while we were there. So what makes us keep coming back? The staff are amongst the friendliest we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, whether you are talking to the owner, Nikos, the General Manager, Marios, the Reservations Manager, George, the wonderful breakfast cook, Vaso, or the two lovely ladies who clean your room, Dina and Plamena, everyone is simply marvelous! There are 10 rooms and suites to choose from and so far we have tried 4 of them and have not been disappointed. The highlight room for us has been the "Forms of Light" which will sleep a max. of 6 people so it's a complete luxury if you book it for two as you will have two bathrooms at your disposal! This suite comes with the most beautiful rooftop terrace that truly has to be seen to be believed (see pictures). We have also stayed in the two garden rooms, "Views of Rhodes" and "Panselinos", as well as the "Temple of Apollo" – all of which we can highly recommend although we feel certain that any room at this hotel will be a highlight of your stay in the old town. The hotel is ideally placed at the top end of a small street containing bars and restaurants but slightly away (maybe a two-minute walk) from the main drag which makes it feel much less touristy. The fact that In Camera does not have a bar or restaurant is by no means a disadvantage as you literally need only walk a few meters to enjoy great food served by really friendly waiters. The food may differ in quality but we haven't yet found a restaurant where the people were anything but friendly. For us, the standout restaurants include - Paneri (Mediterranean food done differently), Marco Polo (a bit pricey but great for a splurge), The Ritualist (directly in front of the hotel, serving excellent Greek food with a twist), La Varka (Greek and lovely), and Il Giardino (set in an alleyway serving lovely Greek food), to name just a few! Our faves as far as "just" drinking is concerned: Baluse Club (on the corner at the bottom of the street – a cozy lounge bar with great people-watching potential! Also, Raxati offers great, affordable drinks with truly eclectic decor and the second-best Mojito in town (their words, not ours)! If you stay in the old town as often as we have don't be surprised if you receive a friendly "welcome back" in any of the bars or restaurants – it's just that kind of place (especially if you are in one of the quieter streets). In short, this is a fantastic hotel that we can't wait to visit again, set in a wonderful location, steeped in history. Enjoy!

Exceptional and remarkable experience in everything in this amazing boutique hotel in the heart of the old city! The hospitality was amazing, providing an excellent service in everything I needed for my stay. The breakfast was so delicious, well prepared with the best quality and with a big variety of options, made up by local products! The location was very convenient, located right in the heart of the medieval city in a beautiful and quiet area, but at the same time right by all the busy parts of the city. The hotel’s architecture and aesthetics is amazing, arts and photography, unique furniture and all the equipment to make my stay very comfortable and pleasurable! My stay was unforgettable! Truly recommended and looking forward to returning very soon. We stayed for a week at In Camera and absolutely loved it. Everything about this hotel was excellent, including the friendly staff, delicious breakfast buffet, comfortable accommodations, and location in the Old Town. Our suite was “Forms of Light”, which we highly recommend because of its large private terrace with fantastic views (as long as you don’t mind climbing 3 flights of stairs). We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Nikos, who showed us some of his beautiful photos taken on the island. We would definitely stay at this hotel again if we return to the island!

Large beautiful family room with our own bedroom so we had separation from the kids. Helpful, friendly staff, and a great breakfast really loved the locally made jams. Location was convenient for walking around the old city.

In Camera Art is a very central boutique hotel. The architecture is Ottoman Turkish very local and historic. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Marios, the breakfast lady and Dilber (local Turkish cleaning lady) all are very helpful. They gave good advices from restaurants to beaches and to car rents.. I go to places I used to go.. So In Camera Art will be my address on Rhodes Island.

“In Camera” Art Boutique Hotel was the most beautiful hotel I stayed at during my trip to Greece. I’ve mostly been to large hotels, but this one was my most memorable by far. Marios was very welcoming and made sure my stay was comfortable. The breakfast was generous and tasted phenomenal; I especially loved the Greek yogurt with honey and walnuts.

It looks very cute inside, goes right with the “Medieval meets Modern” theme by utilizing the existing Medieval buildings and including modern furniture and decor. The hosts, Marios and George, were amazing. A lot of attention to detail, always offered their help. The included breakfast was a beautiful spread too and yummy. The rooms, the decor and overall the staff and the cook (Vaso) were top notch type of people. They will win you over with their charm :)
