I can not thank all the staff enough for their great kindness to me during a difficult period in my life. There is sometimes the impression that staff on reception just sit behind a screen, taking bookings, answering questions and handing out keys. However, this is a huge over simplification. The staff at this Premier Inn have superb interpersonal skills, a real desire to meet customer needs and are a massive credit to the company that employs them. Hours are often long and come with little thanks. Indeed, during my two week stay I watched the staff have to solve the issues of one customer who was verging on the abusive. From what I could glean his 'complaint' was based on the the fact he wanted additional people to stay in his room without paying for them or considering the duty of care staff have to others. This customer was treated with respect, listened to, and made allowances for when they were 'bang out of order' and really unpleasant. It made me think how brilliant the staff were and how they have to endure so much while remaining friendly and professional. This is a small Premier Inn but is nonetheless, superbly cared for. It is very clean and comfortable. However what sets it apart from other Premier Inns I have stayed at is not the building but the staff who make it such a haven for customers taking a break, sharing positive times or staying when times are challenging.
