Super accommodating staff, very nice hotel with old west charm in the middle of Xela. Breakfasts were a daily treat. Beautiful indoor courtyards, sweet old vendor sold things there without much pressure. Very nice. Would definitely go there again.

There was a WOW moment when I first saw the room (exposed brick and stone walls, unique electrical wiring, gorgeous bed, robe and slippers). But the room is always dark with no windows and It gets quite cold by morning. Blankets are perfect, but the robe is very light. I wish they had a heater. Staff is welcoming and helpful. Common areas are lovely, there is a cute display of some old household items. Breakfast is ok. Location cannot be better - in the historic center with its beautiful architecture and central square steps away. There is a tourist info office in the square. Good food places are very close; Patsy has an amazing ambiance, and Xelapan offers delicious baked goods. Little tiendas with water and snacks are everywhere. Just off the square alongside the cathedral there is an indoor shopping mall with a huge selection of artisanal textiles and souvenirs. I liked the stroll to Minerva Market and back. The Minerva temple is stunning, and the market is overwhelming. A much smaller version of the market is right on the street (literally "on the street") where the hotel is. Overall, I had a very nice stay in Casa Morasan and will gladly recommend it to future visitors.

Wonderfully charming hotel with a great location in downtown Xela. Loved the mix of old charm of the old renovated building with the modern touches. Comfortable bed, tasty breakfast, good restaurant overall, and nice courtyards to sit outside in and read or work.

Beautiful and well kept hotel, about one block from Quetzaltenango central park. Very friendly and professional staff. Some of them shared stories about the centuries old hotel, which is kept in pristine condition. Additional amenities were: bicycles, jacuzzi, wine selection, and others. The food prepared at the hotel restaurant was excellent in quality, flavor, and price.

Some aspects were excellent like the service and cleanliness, but the main issue we had was that there was no privacy between the rooms. We could hear clearly our neighbors' entire conversations, and our first night was a difficult one because our neighbors were talking until the early AM hours. The floor consists of wooden boards so we could hear when neighbors would walk at night, loud enough to be noticiable. There was also a lot of noise from the street too late at night. We bought earplugs and installed a whitenoise app that helped mitigate the situation. The food was excellent, the room was very clean, and the staff was extremely attentive.
