Begin oktober, aan de start van het seizoen op Mauritius een week verbleven in het Maritim Crystals Beach Hotel. Bij de receptie keurig ontvangen door de gastvrije medewerkers. Daar we een ochtendvlucht hadden was onze kamer nog niet gereed, maar de koffers konden veilig bewaard en wij ontvingen alvast onze polsbandjes opdat we in het resort gebruik konden maken van o.a. het zwembad en de horeca. Terwijl wij op ontdekking gingen werden we aangesproken door een medewerker welke ons alle belangrijke zaken liet zien (poolbar, hoofd restaurant, a la carte restaurants e.a.) Na de lunch, welke we genoten in het hoofdrestaurant, bleek onze kamer gereed. Het is een ruim opgezet resort met 11 gebouwen waar de kamers in gevestigd zijn. Onze kamer bevond zich in een rustig gedeelte van het resort. Dit was voor ons prettig daar wij met onze 3-jarige dochter op vakantie waren. De kamer is ruim van opzet, heeft goed sanitair met een ruime douche en gescheiden toilet. Het balkon is ruim en biedt meer dan voldoende ruimte om met zijn drieën gezellig te kunnen zitten. De kamers werden iedere dag keurig schoongemaakt, schone handdoeken, bedden opgemaakt en de mini-bar werd dagelijks bijgevuld. Het complex beschikt over 2 zwembaden en direct naast het resort ligt "Aqualand", een zwemparadijs met diverse glijbanen. Hier kan men ook gebruik van maken. Omdat onze dochter nog zo jong is hebben wij dit niet gedaan. Van de andere twee zwembaden is er een verwarmd bad, met een kleine poolbar, en het hoofd- zwembad dichter bij het strand. Ook hier een bar. De bars bij de zwembaden worden het grootste deel van de tijd gedraaid door 1 medewerker. Doordat er geen bediening bij het zwembad is, en de gasten van het strand ook naar de bar bij het hoofd-zwembad moeten lopen, staat er veelal een rij om drankjes te bestellen. Het assortiment is breed, (sappen, frisdranken, cocktails en bier), maar de uitstraling fantasieloos. Je stelt jezelf voor nippend aan een fraaie cocktail (met bijv. een stukje fruit en parasolletje als garnituur) op een bedje op het hagelwitte strand te liggen. De werkelijkheid is dat je alles in een plastic beker met vervaagd het logo van het hotel geserveerd krijgt. Het wordt je geserveerd met een glimlach, het personeel is vriendelijk, maar het mist de puntjes op de i. Zo ook het buffet-restaurant, wij hebben er bewust voor gekozen om niet de a la carte restaurants te gebruiken. Dit omdat we onze dochter zelf wilden laten kiezen wat ze zou eten. Het ontvangst bij het restaurant is keurig. Je wordt netjes naar een tafel (naar keuze binnen of buiten) gebracht en direct wordt je gevraagd wat je wil drinken naast plat/bruisend water. Het restaurant werkt met dagelijks wisselende thema's maar na drie dagen kom je er achter dat de thema's meer terug komen in het decor (in de vorm van doeken / netten welke bij het thema passen) dan dat je iets anders eet. The hotel and its staft was very well organised and helpful. Always there to help us. As We get access to Aqualand as well which was an extraordinary experience for all of us. Excellent food with best cocktails.. A place to definitely to come again. Lovely a**osphere

Our first stay in Mauritius and what a splendid stay. Was welcomed by the most friendly staff, Tameeta who attended to us with the most beautiful smile and personality, very helpful. We do not speak French but she accommodated us in a very friendly manner. We would recommend this hotel to all our friends. Many thanks to everyone who made our stay memorable!

We had the worst experience. We therefore strongly recommend guests to consider twice before booking this hotel with terrible customer service. To start with, we arrived there for an on time booking but we were asked to wait for 45 minutes as the rooms were not ready. Once we checked in to our room, the floor was still wet and dirty. There was also a leakage of the minibar which caused our baby to fell down. This could have been very serious indeed. The phone was not operational and we had to walk to the reception which was very far and a waste of time. When the incident was reported , they changed our minibar and checked the phone also. Fair enough. For tea time , all the three outdoor coffee machines were out of order. When reported we were asked to use chose found inside the restaurant which was also in same condition. The strict minimum is to check the tidiness and phone before allocating a room to any guest. Being vegetarians, we were at least expecting to be treated with a choice of menu. But the only veg food was tomato sauce with pasta. Not even a salad or potato wedges for kids. The worst is that a same spoon was being used for the non veg Bolognese sauce and the veg one. As a sign of respect for vegetarians , this could have been taken care of by serving another spoon. To conclude we had a terrible experience at this hotel and the staffs did not want to cooperate or help. We decided to leave the hotel the same night

Checkin was quick, we book in all inclusive with a jacuzzi room . Room was quite spacious but it’s too old , bed was sinking , towel was old as well. Curtain was broken . The best thing about the hotel was the food . Food is really nice we enjoy the buffet they provide yummy delicious food . Entertainment is ok. Got a few shop in the hotel but price wise a bit expensive Staff are courteous

When we checked in, it was a disaster. - The room was dirty - The toilet was leaking - There was something that looked like a bloodstain in front of the door The thing that transformed our experience is Mr Ajay who sent another crew to do deep cleaning of the room, and the cleaning supervisor (week of 15th to 20th April) in block 8105, who followed up and made sure. - The room was deep-cleaned - The leaky toilet was fixed - The stain was power-washed That level of staff attentiveness triggered by Mr Ajay was the first good sign. The reception wasn't very helpful. The Kids Club is a genius idea ... our daughter spent most of her time there and had a lot of fun. The staff there are also amazing. It helps a lot that Aqualand waterpark is on the grounds. The heated pool was amazing. **Things I didn't like** - the procedure for booking an ala carte restaurant was a bit tedious. - they had a poster for an "All White Party" featuring only caucasians in the photo. While wasn't intentional, it sent a wrong message. My daughter, on seeing that picture, said, "Oh, Daddy, that's only for white people." I pointed it out to someone at the reception and I'll be checking to see if they address it (it wasn't when we left). I'll certainly consider visiting again but I'd be more adamant about inspecting the room before settling in.

Unsafe Hotel I stayed 5 days with my family.I put DND sign when i join the hotel at first day and when we came back to the room someone took our DND sign so i called House keeping and reception two times please bring me another one but they never care about that did not bring it.So when we left from the room for dinner we did not put Clean my room sign and hotel worker whos name is L***s joined my room after 6:35pm to clean my room and he stole my 50$ on the table and some Turkish Lira and he decided to chech my wife bagge which is inside of the wardrobe and he took about 260$ and some Turkish money from her wallet.Hotel never care about that I talked to manager of the hotel with the lady she is crazy about money and she said to me if you dont like you can leave from the hotel. Do not go that horrible hotel otherwise someone steal your money and hotel says this is not my problem.

Our second year at Crystal Beach and it was just as good as the last. Vinah and the spa team were absolutely wonderful. Head Waiter Raj and his team were particularly helpful with trying to feed two very small children. Belle Mare beach is always divine and we are looking forward to our next stay, and for many years to come!
