I booked my stay at this location in the past and have had great experiences in the past. This stay was far different in room 406. It started great when I was greeted upon checkin and was given my room without any issues. I thought I had my housekeeping scheduled for my stay since I would be there for about a week. The room was clean and just as I expected from stays in the past. It is walking distance to a nearby grocery store and driving distance to some popular restaurants. As much as I hate to say this, this stay ended bad. I inquired about the missed make up room for my stay as I was in the room for over 3 days, and was told I did not have that option. No fix. I went back to my room, and realized I needed some refills on the basic supplies. I tried to call on my room phone, and realized the phone was not working. I had to call the front desk using my cell phone and asked if I could have some of the items brought to me. I was told to come down if I wanted to get these supplies. I only called because I've already went up to the room, back down to the room, and back up after. When I asked at the front the frond desk agent said, "this is not a full service hotel." There are other things that could have been said, but in the end this soured the relationship I tried to build by staying here the past few visits to the Pooler/Savannah area. I was able to talk to a different person right at checkout since the front desk agent wasn't receptive. Brian was pleasant and offered an apology. I was surprised he even asked how my stay was at check out, which was nice. He took the note of the situation and said he may have an idea of who the individual employee was. Would I stay here again? Probably not likely, but Brian did increase the chances of returning. Maybe I will take the front desk employee's advice and find a different hotel that offers better customer service. The tone was set when the one employee said to come down and get it with no explanation and stating that excuse of the hotel is not a full service hotel. I understand I'm not getting room service, bell service, or anything like that. At least provide a better reason rather than stating that, so guests can understand why. What Brian did was what I would do for my customers; his customer service technique was textbook great. If guests are to take their garbage out of the room, can the rooms have a trash bag to use? If no service for stays lasting almost a week are not provided unless it's in the system, providing a trash bag would be helpful. The laundry bag is in there, so a trash bag can easily be added.
