Staff muito simpatico e loca acolhedor e com higiene. Nao foi a primeira vez que ficamos alojados neste local e garantidamente que nao sera a ultima. Excelente conceito de pequeno almoco..Um bem haja a todos os que fazem parte desta equipa.

O quarto estava cheio de insetos (térmitas), chamamos atenção e mudaram o quarto. No dia seguinte regressámos ao mesmo quarto (pois supostamente teria sido desinfestado, mas não foi verdade). Apos este episódio, devido ao facto de não terem procedido corretamente em relação a limpeza no dia seguinte o quarto continuava com imensas térmitas, logo fomos obrigados a mudar de quarto novamente… concluímos que este estabelecimento não cumpre com os devidos procedimentos de higiene…. Não recomendamos este alojamento a ninguém a menos que alguém goste de dormir no meio de insetos…

Greatest experience ever. Spacious rooms (20 ft ceilings!), clean, comfortable, right in the city center. And the staff is the best. Kudos to Nuno for showing up at 11pm to help me solve a problem. 5 stars service, truly. Highly recommended.

Everything was perfect at Casa do Mercado, except that we booked a room at Casa Ateneu.

The property was OK. The staff was very nice and always tried to help. But the room was smelling like mold!! We’ve let the windows open the whole time, so the room wasn’t smelling like mold after, but the bathroom didn’t had a window, so it always smelled like mold. Due to the open windows it was very loud. If you want a good sleep, I don’t recommend you this property, even if the windows were closed, it was too loud and noisy. We asked if it was possible to get gluten-free breakfast for one of our friends and if it’s possible to leave out everything with pork from the breakfast basket, they told us that it was possible. The first day we got a box with cheese and pork mixed in one and a pack of gluten free bread. The next day, after we told them again that we asked for pork free meals the left out the pork-ham. The third day it was again everything with pork AND no gluten-free bread anymore…. at the end we asked them to give us back the money for the breakfast because we couldn’t eat anything at all. The breakfast at all wasn’t good anyways.

Extremely responsive and helpful management. Wonderful fresh breakfast delivered daily in a basket. Only blocks away from the best restaurants in Ponta Delgada.

Only stayed for 2 of the 7 nights booked as road noise at night and from very early morning was awful. The windows did not have double glazing as many refurbished places had. We had to move to a quiet hotel, no refund offered. I was told that it was in a city centre and cobbles are part of their culture, I agree but most places had installed double glazing to compensate for the cobble noise. Room was lovely with a nice bathroom and shower the bed was comfortable so could have been a great stay except for the noise. The person from the company we spoke to as we left admitted that they are aware of this as others had complained too. A disastrous expensive start to our holiday.
