First room was dirty and the air conditioner made a horrible noise. They promptly gave us another room. We were supposed to get a room refreshing every two days. I was down at the front desk every day till day number 5, when they finally did a full clean. Then two more days and no clean. Day before we were scheduled to leave, the people in the room next door were smoking and we had to close the bathroom door to reduce how much smoke smell came into the room. Called the front desk and they sent someone up. And it stopped. Then at midnight the room started smelling of burning toast. This continued until the people next door checked out much later that day. The front desk manager and another employee came to check on our complaint about the smell. They verified it smelled strongly of burning toast. They investigated. An offer was made to switch us to another room. I declined because we were leaving the next day. However we ended up staying another night. Finally by the time we left, we were able to clear most of the stench out if the room. Some of what happened was not the hotels fault. However, with everything in mind, it was one of the worst stays I’ve had. I was frustrated that out of a 10 day stay, the room was only scheduled for a cleaning one day. And I had to go down and complain to get that. Then the smoking and burning toast smell for days to top it off. The everyone was verbally apologetic. It cost about $1,900 for this.
