Positives: The location & view was great.
Negatives:
No towel rack (s)
No blackout curtains that fit windows (bright light complete top, bottom and 3 sides)!
Blanket does not fit king bed (doubt if it would fit a queen)!
Bathroom light comes on automatically...be sure & wear blinders if you get up in the middle of the night!
Bathroom fan runs constantly, cannot shut off!!
Very bright red LED light on thermastate at night.

The hotel itself is excellent. The rooms are great, the hot tub is great. The one thing that they need to figure out is breakfast. You have to allow yourself a lot of extra time because they always run out of food and you end up having to wait a while for it. The coffee runs out also.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and new. Breakfast was listed as continental, but was better than the other 3 hotels on our trip. We will stay again for sure. If I must say something bad about the place, the parking lot didn’t have enough parking and too much garden bed space. Everything else was perfect.

A very nice, comfortable hotel right on the river. Very close to the downtown area of Independence. Lots of little shops, restaurants & bars.

Absolutely love checking in to stay at this hotel! Great location, on site dining, super friendly staff & really comfortable clean rooms. Will always stay at the Independence during my visits!

We have been staying here since it opened. Everyone is very nice and the place still looks nice and nee. I hope it stays like that. Love thats it walking distance to the little shops

What a nice and comfortable hotel. Lovely decor and furnishings. Quiet air conditioning , very comfortable.
Morning breakfast was lacking due to snow and ice storm affected the shipments of food. Other wise excellent. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

the staff was excellent. Breakfast could have variety as it was the exact same everyday, dryer needs repair and the furniture was very dirty

Every single thing about this stay was perfect except the pillows. They were simply awful. Flat flat flat. It took me an hour and putting a bathroom towel underneath them to get some sleep. My friend had to do the same.
Aside from that extremely happy with the hotel.
