We zijn met drie op uitstap geweest naar Plitvica National Park, mijn vrouw, mijn dochtertje van zes en ikzelf. Het park zelf is prachtig en heel goed en klantvriendelijk georganiseerd. Onze B&B was ook uitstekend maar 's avonds gingen we in restaurants in de buurt eten. Zo kwamen we bij Plitvica Lodge terecht omwille van de goede reviews. Was dat even een afschuwelijke ervaring! We zaten nog niet neer of de eigenaar kwam ons zonder iets te vragen meerdere glazen zelfgestookte alcohol inschenken. Uit beleefdheid heb ik één glas opgedronken maar toen hij bleef inschenken werd ik een beetje ongemakkelijk en ik heb de rest laten staan. Toen ik vroeg om het menu te zien zei hij gewoon dat we konden kiezen uit een grillschotel met vis of een met vlees. De vis was forel en dat lusten niet dus kozen we voor twee schotels met vlees. Ons dochtertje zou van ons meeëten. Het vlees was niet goed doorbakken en de aardappelen en groenten dreven in het vet. Mijn dochtertje kreeg geen hap naar binnen en wij hadden ook snel genoeg. Ik vroeg om de rekening en toen kwam hij met een mierzoet gebak af dat we ook niet lustten. Ik vroeg nogmaals om de rekening maar hij bleef het maar rekken en kwam weer met zijn zelfgestookte jenever af die we opnieuw weigerden. Na lang aandringen en omdat ik mijn jas al had aangetrokken kreeg ik uiteindelijk de rekening: 1 appelsapje: 3 €, 1 liter spuitwater in een plastic fles van het goedkoopste merk: 5 €, 2 dagschotels: 2 x 30 €. Ik zei dat dit veel te duur was en dat het dubbel zoveel was als in de andere restaurants in de buurt en zelfs duurder dan in België, hetgeen de waarheid is. Ik zei ook dat hij de mensen op voorhand moest zeggen hoeveel zijn eten kostte. Hij werd boos en weigerde iets van de prijs af te doen. Ik heb hem toen betaald omdat ik zelf zo stom was geweest om de prijs niet van tevoren te vragen maar ik vind dit evengoed beneden alle peil. Ik ga al meer dan tien jaar op vakantie naar Kroatië en heb meestal goede ervaringen gehad. Zo een afzetterij als in Plitvica Lodge heb ik nog nooit meegemaakt. Vanaf nu ga ik voorzichtiger zijn als ik voor de eerste keer een restaurant bezoek.

We just came across this by chance as we were walking past and the owner encouraged us to come for dinner so we did. We did not retreat it!! WOW is you want a true home cooked and authentic Croatian meal this is a must. The owner’s hospitality is very welcoming and the meal is very generous. It is a set menu of either mixed grill or fish. We had the mixed grill and it was beautiful. The appetiser first was grilled bread, cheese and salami from the local regions was amazing! Dessert was a beautiful cherry cake. Was a great treat and while it might like look like a fancy restaurant it was one of our best meals on our 5 week trip around Europe.

Lovely, clean room and wonderful couple that ran the lodge. Perfect location to walk into the Plitvice Park. They serve a fun dinner outside with fire grilled bread as an appetizer. We liked it so much we stayed a second night!

We have just come back from a lovely short break in Croatia, and stayed at the lakes in Plitvica, which was beautiful. Nearby where we stayed was Plitvica lodge, and the reason for my review is the fact that the owners kept a very large dog, which I think was a Husky - cross in a small cage outside. During our stay the temperature was approx 38 - 40 degrees, and we found it very upsetting to see this lovely dog caged all day long

Fantastic B and B What a great find Brilliant position near to the entrance to the park Very nice rooms with everything you might want The owner Karlo is a great host very welcoming and informative about local attractions. He goes out of his way to make your stay special His home made schnapps is excellent The wine and food were first class and reasonably priced Overall an excellent experience and we would definitely stay there again

My family of 5 stayed at B&B Plitvica Lodge (3 rooms) for two nights this week, and so far it has been the highlight of our 2 week tour of Croatia, exceeding my expectations in every way. The Lodge is perfectly situated a short walk from the least crowded entrance to the park, is beautifully appointed throughout with surprisingly lovely details, and still feels like an old-time, cozy, rustic mountain lodge. Complete, comfortable relaxation after a big day of hiking the park. Best of all was our host, Karlo, who along with his family were extremely attentive to every need, the picture of true hospitality. We also enjoyed fabulous, traditional Croatian home cooking, very nice wines, and oh the Rakija! Highly recommended, I would not hesitate to return. Hvala, Karlo and Martina!

Very comfortable and cosy location right next to the Entrance 3 of the park. The owners were extremely welcoming and the hospitality was great. Perfect base to explore Plitvicka jezera. Highly recommended. Keep in mind that side payments (e.g. dinner are cash only, which can be obtained in an ATM 3 min down the road

We had a two-night stay at the lodge and enjoyed every second. The room was a good size, immaculately clean and comfortable. Karlo the host is brilliant. He has lots of good information and goes so far out of his way to make all of the guests feel welcome, including liberally dispensing shots of his homemade schnapps/grappa at dinner. The food was great - a good spread for breakfast with eggs made to order. Then in the evenings, authentic local Croatian food cooked al fresco on the grill outside. The first night we had peka, which we had wanted to try. The pork was succulent and flavourful. The next night it was a grill - either mixed meat or trout with veggies. Again, perfectly cooked. The Lodge is a five minute walk to Entrance #3 of the park, so you can be up early and beat the crowds, especially to the big waterfall. We were up and out by 730 but I'd recommend going even earlier if you can. Would highly HIGHLY recommend a stay here for a really authentic experience and great service.

This is a very warm, inviting hotel with equally warm hosts. The location is immensely quiet and the dining options (breakfast and dinner) are all very good. IMPORTANT: Plitvica Park is nearby only as the crow flies. If you are driving to the park, you will have a ~20 minute drive further to get to this lodge. If you drive to the lodge first, you will only need to walk a few minutes to get to the park.
