Hotel Real Del Mayab

This is my home in Playa del Carmen. The location is great; you leave the front door of the hotel, and all the glitz and touristy fun (Paseo de Carmen mall) is on your left; and Mexico actually begins to the right. The further right (west/inland) you go, the more authentic your experience in Playa, and the lower the cost. The front desk staff is super friendly. Kudos always to Tania, Alberto and the crew. The rooms are always very clean, and the only reason I am not giving 5 stars is that the water pressure seems to be low throughout the hotel (at least the rooms I've been in), and there are some minor maintenance items that should be addressed, namely, ceiling fans in some rooms don't work properly. Don't let the minor issues make you overlook this little hotel. It's a bargain. I love the a**osphere and the quiet. The AC blows ice cold and there is satellite TV and a fridge in every room. Hot and cold purified water is available at the foot of the stairs, so you can have a quick cup of instant coffee in the morning if, like me, you need a jump start.

Close to 5th avenue, beach is walkable. Only problem we had is the bathroom shower, water pressure is very very low.

Super clean boutique hotel. Beautiful courtyard, super clean. Staff ia friendly and beat of all it's close to everything, ferry, beach, tours, shopping. Very quiet, low pressure but lots of hot water. Would absolutely stay again.

All the necessary things we need for our activities.

Wonderful and warm staff and very accommodating. I had to store my luggage in their office so I could catch the very early tour to Chichen Itza. The staff waited until I returned at 10PM and finally checked in. They wanted to make sure I was settled and okay. What excellent and caring service! I would definitely stay again!!

The staff was very helpful and accommodating! I was able to arrange an early flights, on-site parking was easy, and when the aircon in my room didn't work, they were able to switch me to a different room. This hotel was a great deal for the price: taxi stand right outside, and a quick 5 minute walk to the beach and 5th avenue.

Go location! The room is clean. I would like to return

We liked the area and the price! Super clean and nice staff! We would stay here again. We liked how close to ferry and were able to walk around with no issues. We did hear some planes occasionally but all the hotels would hear that, so normal. A taxi stand down the street.
