Hotels bij Pingyao Gucheng Railway Station, Pingyao

De binnenplaats is prachtig en de locatie is geweldig, niet ver van de City God Temple, wat een oase van rust biedt te midden van alle drukte. De eigenaar en zijn collega's waren allemaal erg behulpzaam. Ze haalden ons op en brachten ons naar de parkeerplaats bij de New East Gate. Bij aankomst gaven ze aanbevelingen voor attracties, reisroutes en populaire restaurants, en boden ze ledenkortingen aan. Toen we uitcheckten, boden ze ons beleefd aan om wat oude azijn mee naar huis te nemen, omdat ik die vergeten was mee te nemen. Ze stuurden het mee naar huis, samen met wat spullen die ik in mijn kamer had laten liggen! De oude stad Pingyao was veel beter dan de recensies die ik online las. Het heeft een eeuwenoude architectuur, heerlijk eten en culturele bezienswaardigheden. Ik kom er zeker nog eens terug.

Conveniently located about 100m from the main street in the ancient city and the South gate tower. The room was beautifully appointed in a traditional manner with lovely Chinese objet d’art, and matched their online pictures. We were picked up and dropped off from the train station, and our daily breakfast bento box was interesting, generous and delicious. There was also wontons or noodles, coffee, juice and yoghurt. The staff looked after us well.

Wat een ontzettend goede keuze was deze boeking! De locatie van het pension is fantastisch; het is er heerlijk rustig, maar toch midden in de gezelligheid. Vanaf de westpoort is het slechts vijf minuten lopen, wat een perfecte balans biedt tussen de levendigheid van de oude stad en de serene rust van de accommodatie. We waren met de auto, en hoewel we buiten de stadsmuren moesten parkeren, was de jonge dame van de receptie ontzettend behulpzaam. Ze kwam speciaal om ons met de bagage te helpen, wat het ongemak van het sjouwen met koffers direct wegnam. De receptie deelde niet alleen uit zichzelf handige reisroutes, maar hielp ook vriendelijk mee met het reserveren van maaltijden. De handgemaakte maancake die we bij aankomst kregen, was een extra verrassing – heerlijk authentiek en met veel zorg bereid. Het pension is gevestigd in een voormalige residentie. Als 's avonds de rode lantaarns oplichten, komt de sfeer van de hoogtijdagen van de Jin-handelaren pas echt tot leven. Het betreden van de binnenplaats voelt als een onderdompeling in de geschiedenis. De kamerfaciliteiten zijn compleet, het grote bed is heerlijk zacht en comfortabel, waardoor ons verblijf uitzonderlijk aangenaam was. Dit heeft onze hele Pingyao-ervaring ontzettend veel goed gedaan!

Receptionist were polite, friendly, helpful & thoughtful. They took initiative to giving us suggestions on 'primary' attractions and recommending us localized dishes, stalls and restaurants, which turned out to be very good. They also arranged to pick us up from the entrance (normal car cannot enter Pingyao Gucheng) and send us to Pingyao Gucheng station (high-speed train station) on our last day - both for free. They helped arrange a private car to take us to the places we wanted to visit (Wang Jia Da Yan & Mianshan) - we had to pay, of course. On check-out day, the receptionist gave us a surprise by gifting us a small bottle of localized vinegar which added on to our pleasant stay. In our travel experiences in more than 10 countries (& many hotels), the receptionist from this hotel was 1 of the best. Room was clean and no cigarette smell inside the room and within hotel premises. Towels were clean and smelled fresh. One small issue was that the water pressure from the hand-held shower head was weak. But the water pressure from rain-shower head was still acceptable. The hotel interior was very ancient-like which was very pretty and met what we expected. No disappointment. Hotel location was very good. A few footsteps away from bustling streets. The bustling streets were full of variety of shops -- restaurants, souvenirs, snacks, attractions, and many more. There was no vegetarian restaurant inside Pingyao Gucheng, however, you could easily ask the restaurant staff to cook vegetarian meal for you -- just need a bit of explaining what you want to exclude from your meal, it's quite easy.

We stayed at thos lovely hotel. Lovingly restored by the current owner Mr Wang. He is the 6th generation owner of the property. Until 10 years ago it was a derelict and dilapidated building. He poured money, time, blood, sweat and tears to restore it And it does feel and look like a traditional house. You feel you are going back in time. Firstly the customer service is way beyond the call of duty. Its so good, i would recommend staying with mr Wang at whatever hotel he runs. He picked us at the Lower East Gate, and brought us to the hotel, then took nearly half an hour to explain in great detail where we need to visit, whether the sights be in the city or outside the city. Some of his suggestions, not on the tour books were very good . For example he suggested 3 restaurants, and we avoided them thinking he was getting a kickback.on our 4th and last day we tried restaurant no 2 of his. And it was good , the food and service were good. The prices were average with other restaurants and we got a 10% discount being the hotel's guests. And remember we had eaten 10 meals by the time we came to his suggestions. Another suggestion of Mr Wang was Ma family home - also a very good tip from him. Everytime we had a request or question he always responded with enthusiasm. On our last day we checked out at 4am and he still took us to the pick up point at that ungodly hour. Yep Mr and Mrs Wang's customer service is just first class. The room was large, queen deluxe double, and the furnishings were traditional chinese furniture made of Rosewood. Very Expensive furniture for a hotel room. Shower worked well and was hot. However be aware its chinese style wet floor system ie there is no shower curtain between the shower and a small part of the bathroom does get wet if youare not careful. MR Wang said it will be one his improvement on his priority list. Hopefully by the time you booked the problem will have been resolved The hotel is very close to the main streets. About 5 min walk. The city of pingyao is worth visiting, it is one of the very walled cities left in China, with its old buildings intact and people still living it. All the city walls are also intact. Magnificent at night.

PROS: Great new hotel that's just outside of the Ping Yao's north gate. It was nice to be outside of the old city and get a taste of the local atmosphere. The front staff, cleaning ladies were all incredibly gracious warm and welcoming. The laundry area was well kept, they provided contact solution, womens products and some other extras not usually found in other hotels. Overall the hotel looked spectacular. CONS: I did have a problem with the cigarette smoke in the 1st room we were given and had to look at 3 other rooms before settling on a room across from the ”service” station, all night long there was loud banging and thudding, this wasn't too bad because we were exhausted from our day of walking around. Other than that, we had a great stay!

De B&B ligt op een rustige locatie in een drukke stad, de inrichting van de binnenplaats is heel lokaal, de kamer is heel schoon en de service is ook heel goed. Wanneer u in het hotel verblijft, halen wij u met een elektrische auto op bij de parkeerplaats buiten de oude stad. Wanneer u het hotel verlaat, brengen wij u ook naar de parkeerplaats. De twee jonge obers renden naar voren om de bagage te dragen en hielpen ook de ouderen. Bij het inchecken helpt de dame bij de receptie u met het markeren van de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden en geeft ze u de weg op een kaart van de oude stad. Het enige nadeel is dat de ouder-kindkamer zich in het binnenste deel van de t****e verdieping van de binnenplaats bevindt, wat niet erg vriendelijk is voor ouderen met slechte benen en voeten. De matras is een beetje ongemakkelijk om op te slapen en het voelt alsof je het springnet kunt aanraken. Ik stel voor dat de herbergier een manier vindt om dit probleem op te lossen. Al met al een goede keuze!

這次平遙之行，非常榮幸選擇了榮耀民宿，雖然在古城外，但出行超方便，步行5-6分鐘就到古城入口，還免去了古城內交通管制的麻煩。房間乾淨又温馨，床品軟乎乎的，晚上一沾枕頭就睡着。民宿老闆是一名二十年的退役老兵，服務超熱情，不僅幫忙規劃路線，還推薦了很多本地人常去的小店，價格非常優惠才幾十塊錢，真的是物超所值。特別推薦大家可以入住體驗

This hotel was stunning. Located in the heart of the city. Very charming, it feels like going back in time. Staff is extremely nice and helpful. Crystal at concierge was there for us all the time. Definitely recommended. Only down point: the hotel is very difficult to find. To keep a higher level of exclusivity there is not a single indication on the street. Took a while and some local help to manage.

自駕到古城，老闆娘給安排了古城牆下的停車場，20元一晚，客棧離西門停車場非常近，非常方便。客棧在古城步行街邊上，古典有特色，春節來院子裏大紅燈籠高高掛，十分喜慶，客棧十分適合旅拍，在客棧就能完成，期待旅拍的照片。老闆娘非常熱情❤️
