Hotels bij Kenting Night Market, Pingtung

De kamer met zeezicht waarin we verbleven, lag super dicht bij het strand! Je hoefde alleen maar de straat over te steken en je was er bijna! Het was zo comfortabel! (⁎⁍̴̛ᴗ⁍̴̛⁎) De eigenaren waren ook allemaal erg aardig! Het is ook heel dicht bij de hoofdstraat van Kenting met de auto.

Het hotel zelf is over het algemeen prima. Er is een grote en erg leuke speeltuin voor kinderen, hoewel die tijdens de lunch sluit. Het nabijgelegen strand is heel anders dan op de foto's op de website van het hotel – het is beter om af te gaan op de foto's in de recensies. Het ontbijt zou voor deze prijs ook aanzienlijk beter kunnen. De grootste teleurstelling was het personeel, met name bij de receptie. Bij het inchecken kregen we geen informatie over de programma's of het beschikbare entertainment. Toen we een dag eerder moesten vertrekken vanwege ziekte, vroeg niemand waarom of bood niemand aan om ons ontbijt te vergoeden. Het leek vreemd dat hoe hoger de sterrenclassificatie van een hotel in Taiwan, hoe minder aandacht er aan de gasten wordt besteed. Ter vergelijking: we verbleven in Kaohsiung voor 1100 TWD per nacht en de service daar was veel beter. Dit is geen klaagzang, maar eerder een teleurstelling. We hoopten op een ontspannen vakantie weg van de drukte van grote steden, maar we zijn uiteindelijk eerder uit dit hotel vertrokken en teruggegaan naar de stad.

Gelegen in South Bay, is de locatie uitstekend. De bus nemen is erg handig; het pension ligt direct bij de bushalte. Het strand is ook gemakkelijk te bereiken, met tal van watersportactiviteiten op korte afstand. De kamers zijn ruim en schoon en bieden een fantastisch uitzicht. Er zijn voldoende droogrekken in de kamers – een zeer attent detail. Een 7-Eleven is op loopafstand, dus het is erg handig om even snel iets te eten te halen.

From arrival to departure, the service was excellent. The staff and crew displayed warm hospitality and were attentive to guests' needs. Like many hotels in Taiwan, in-room utilities such as toothbrushes and toothpaste are not provided, so you’ll need to bring your own. Sunshine Liv partners with a scooter rental shop that delivers and collects the scooter directly at the homestay. The rental price is reasonable at TWD 400 for 24 hours, and there’s no requirement to return the scooter with a full tank. The homestay is also conveniently located, with the nearest night market just a 10-minute scooter ride away. We were delighted to receive a complimentary room upgrade with stunning ocean views! The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The TV offers a wide selection of channels across various genres, catering to different preferences. Additionally, the homestay serves a delightful home-cooked style breakfast. Overall, we highly recommend visiting Kenting, and Sunshine Liv is an excellent choice for accommodation! P.S. Complimentary parking is available for in-house guests, but the parking space is quite narrow, so drivers should proceed with caution.

The owner of the hostel is super friendly, and goes extra miles to help guests. The hostel is at a great location, easy access to the beach for diving and snorkeling.

One of the best hostels I have stayed in! The hostel is beautifully decorated and feels super modern but also nice and cosy. It is very clean and peaceful in the evenings, but is only a minutes walk away from the shops and the Main Street, and only ten minutes from the beach and the ferry! The two girls working on reception were incredibly kind and really friendly and happy to chat and help with anything. They were the highlight of my stay. You can rent snorkels from them too. I would 10/10 recommend this hostel to anyone!

Fu Bin met my needs very well. Very welcoming staff, who are a family. They did laundry for me and gave me hangers to dry, and they didn't want to charge for the laundry. That saved me valuable time and made my first trip to Kenting better utilised. Everything at Fu Bin was as described, and they supplied a bowl and cutlery very promptly. It's easy to communicate with the staff by WhatsApp (or wechat, i can't remember) if you don't want to go downstairs. For the price I feel the facilities are fine. No lift, limited view of the night market, decent air con, but I didn't need it all the time anyway. They were relaxed but efficient, and this made me feel more relaxed. I walked to the lovely small beach for swimming, 10 minutes past the night market and in front of Caesar Hotel. The NM is fairly typical of Taiwan and not as co gestsd as the HK ones. I felt well priced for ”Western” currency (£) although TW people are not using Kenting for holidays so much these days. I swum at sunset for the first two days and early morning the third day. It's the best beach I have encountered in 60 years! The Caesar outdoors bar has some groovy music in the evenings, and I recommend having a drink there to finish your sunset swim. It's clean and idyllic. Overall, my experience of Kenting was fantastic. Very friendly and helpful people, great facilities and beautiful flora and fauna. The history and places of indigenous people are worth checking out, especially if you have your own transport. I hope business is good for you all. Tsiu tsiu!

The room is spacious with large bed, the location is a bit further but with a scooter it’s still within easy access to anywhere. The place feels serene. Only thing is check out at 11 if it can be 12 than it will be great!

Very nice place to stay. It seems newly built or renovated and it was very clean. We had a great room with a balcony. Staff is super friendly and really went the extra mile to help us, despite a slight language barrier (they were able to communicate all relevant information in English to us). There was free coffee, tea, and snacks available (including snacks from the island). You may choose between a pre-made breakfast at the hotel or vouchers for a breakfast at a take away place that’s a five-minute scooter drive away. We choose the latter - it’s a nice local experience, a bit of a challenge for non-Chinese speakers such as ourselves, so if you don’t want to figure it out, the pre-made breakfast might be a better option. You can also rent an e-scooter here, which is nice but do keep in mind that it’s silent - so other people in traffic may not hear you. We had no problems but I noticed some people crossing that seemed to have no idea we were passing. A plus is that you can change the battery for free at several points on the island.

We had a nice stay here and considering the price it was absolutely worth it! The facilities, pools and the buildings are clean but definitely have seen better years. Hopefully everything will get renovated soon, because the overall concept of the hotel is great, it just got a bit old over the years
