"Location: Near to Karuizawa train station (approximately 15 min walk to hotel west) and 10min walk to shopping mall. 5 min shuttle bus to reach ski area. Room: Clean and comfortable. But the bath powder is like toilet detergent scent. Amenities: there is Family mart operates until 11pm in hotel west. Service: Front desk lady can’t really speak English and hard to communicate. The man at cloakroom is unfriendly. Shuttle bus service: Shuttle bus service provided within the shopping area, hotel east and west. However, the instruction is unclear to us. When we queued up for the bus to station, the hotel staff did not inform us the bus was here and to align the bus but just change the next bus arrival timing. Until entire lane of the guests missed the bus. We had to walk all the way to station with our huge luggage. Snow Park: No clear direction or sign board to go snow park from hotel east. The snow park area is kinda small and suitable for young kid (below 7 years old). It is boring for kid above 7 years old."

"I chosen Cottage A to stay in. While there is nothing much to complain about the cute cottage, personally it is a bit too small for me. But nice environment, good and helpful staff and a very convenient shuttle system to bring you around. You can also call an internal shuttle service that can ferry you from your cottage to the newer West hotel for their buffet breakfast. Otherwise you can eat at the East Hotel for either a Japanese meal set breakfast or a Western style set breakfast. The bread is really good and soft. The outlet shopping mall is accessed by their half hourly shuttle bus and you can do your premium shopping there and eat at their various restaurants or at their food court style food outlets."

"Hotel Grandvert is a gem for travelers who wants a good stay on a budget. It is located within a few minutes walk from the karuizawa station and the premier outlet shopping, family mart is right across the street and lawson is just adjacent to it, which makes it super convenient for us to travel and get some daily necessities. The room is spacious and comfortable, and my family loves the library (although mostly japanese and limited foreign language available) and the chill out area for a drink after a long walk during the day."

"One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. We visited in early November 2025 during the autumn season, and the beautiful foliage added such a romantic touch to the surroundings. I loved the modern interior, the comfortable bed, and the overall room layout. The hotel looks incredibly romantic at night too, especially with the reflections on the pond. The outdoor onsen was a highlight. It felt serene at night, and the maple trees lit up in the evening made it absolutely scenic. The onsen is located in a separate building, so you do have to walk through the cold, but it wasn’t an issue as the hotel provides thicker robes. If I had to nitpick, the indoor slippers weren’t the most comfortable. We drove during our stay, so getting to nearby attractions was easy. There’s a large supermarket and a pharmacy about 5–10 minutes away, which was very convenient — we didn’t even need to visit any convenience stores. This hotel impressed me so much that it made me look up where else Hotel Indigo has branches in Japan!"

"Het klassieke Karuizawa Resort Hotel, dat al meer dan 100 jaar bestaat, is in zijn oorspronkelijke staat gerestaureerd. Het verwelkomt gasten in 2024 met een gloednieuwe look. Er is een ophaalpunt bij de ophaalplaats van het hotel, bij de zuidelijke uitgang van station Karuizawa. De auto staat een stukje verderop geparkeerd en je moet er even naar zoeken. Er vertrekt een bus om 14:30 uur 's middags. Als er geen bus is, neem dan een taxi rechtstreeks naar het hotel, wat ongeveer RMB 60 kost. De etiquette bij de receptie van het hotel is onberispelijk. Alle medewerkers zijn warm en vriendelijk. De kamer is gewoonweg de beste plek om te verblijven. Hij is gloednieuw, maar niet meer ingericht. Ik had een betere kamer met terras geboekt dan de eenvoudige kamer. Ik kreeg een hoekkamer met grote ramen aan twee kanten. De kamer is zo mooi. Het terras is vrij klein en ik ben er nog nooit buiten geweest. De eenvoudige kamer van het hotel is ook erg ruim. Dat is geen probleem. Elke kamer is comfortabel om in te wonen. Het is aan te raden om maaltijden mee te nemen. Diner kost 16.500 yen plus 1.000 yen om het vlees te upgraden. Het vlees is mals en heerlijk. Het is het waard! Elk gerecht was heerlijk, de juiste temperatuur, de beste kwaliteit. Ontbijt kostte 5700 yen, niet slecht, maar de kwaliteit was niet zo goed als het ontbijt in Nikko Jingu. Het gekookte ei was moeilijk open te maken zonder een eieropener, het spek was niet knapperig en de toast was niet geroosterd. Ik was een beetje teleurgesteld, maar de service was nog steeds perfect. De gordijnen in de kamer waren erg verduisterend, wat zeer werd geprezen. Er reden veel bussen heen en weer van het station naar de outlet shopping. Het was gemakkelijk om te kopen. Er waren alle grote sportmerken en de stijlen waren nieuw. Kortom, ik zou hier weer verblijven als ik naar Karuizawa zou gaan."

"Overall experience is good, very close to snow park. Only downside is I think that the service is very different from other hotel I went in Japan. We will need to carry our own luggage and they did not help to arrange the luggage to the room after the room is ready."
