Bervic Hotel

We stayed here on our last night in Paris. The toilet was not clean and the drain the shower was clogged. Since it was only one night, we didn't bother complaining; however, I came home to find that my card was charged an additional 100 euros. When I inquired with the hotel, I was told it was for smoking in my room and disturbing other guests. Neither I nor my fiance smoke so this is impossible. Stay at your own risk and check your credit card statement after your stay if you do so.

The size of the room was small and it was overlooking the courtyard with neighbour windows in 4 meters in front of you. There was no place for 2 people that can dress at the same time. The size of the bed was also small (around 1,9m long) and the legs were hang down. We hadn't water in the tap in the morning and I couldn't call the reception because the phone didn't work as well. Shower switch button didn't worked too. I asked about changing the room and proposed to pay on top but got rejected. I will not stay here again and will not recommend it.

The room was modern, very clean, and kept warm during the cold nights. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful- especially the evening receptionist. I never caught her name, but she was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Even though this hotel is small, it is extremely comfortable and at a great location for getting the metro. The only downside unfortunately is that the area at night was quite dangerous- there were a lot of street fights and police around, however in the morning and during the day it was fine. If travelling alone i would make sure that if you must go out at night, be weary and stay alert. Other than that, this hotel was very good and great value for money.

Maison Barbes is superbly located near Gare du Nord, which is brilliant if you're travelling into Paris via the Eurostar or planning to explore northern France. Gare du Nord is also a great interchange for many Paris metro lines. The rooms are clean and decently sized by Paris standards, and the furniture is well optimised with a large and comfortable bed (even for the standard room we stayed in). The toilet is a bit cramped, though the shower space is surprisingly generous (perhaps more space could have been allocated to the sink instead of the shower). The toiletries provided are excellent. The decor throughout the hotel is lovely and definitely boutique. The only room for improvement is that they could switch to a keycard system. The current physical lock and key means you have to wait in line to pick up your key whenever you return - not the most efficient system. We will definitely consider staying here again.

A lot of glitches are what are going to hurt this hotel in the long run. Broken Elevator, Water in shower stopping all of a sudden mid bath - the pain points seemed endless. But given the excellent location and the price I paid it was a good value for money and acceptable if you are going to spend most of your time outside exploring the city and come back only to sleep and rest. DINE + DRINK: Lobby level Cafe that serves some good coffee and drinks ROOM: I stayed in Room 603, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Random view of the street; SIZE: Reasonably spacious room, but this was an upgrade! Can't imagine how crammed the normal rooms would be!; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand in shower; FACILITIES: A joke of a gym that they dared to label as a ‘Fitness Center’. Don't bother even checking it out, unless you are really desperate SERVICE: Friendly staff at the Front desk that took care of all my needs sweetly HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free SUPER HIGH-speed Wi-Fi that works well all over the property. Great to get your work done! Small Plasma TV screen that was connected to some smart apps and no Television channels available!

We couldn't be happier with our stay at this elegant boutique hotel, so conveniently located near to Gard de Nord Great ambience, the staff were so helpful and charming, the room was delightful If you want a discreet place to stay, this is the place for yoy Can't wait to return!

The best girl on the front desk so helpful and kind her attention to detail was great . The room was a little small but perfect for a single person Great location close to the metro I would stay again.
