Clean and good staff. The location is very convenient. The property is a little bit old. The door of the bathroom cannot lock and toilet lid is broken. But totally no problem and good stay.

Very nice hotel, typical of what one would expect in Paris. Service was friendly at every interaction. The room has no air conditioning which meant opening the windows and tolerating the busy and noisy street action including police sirens. Location is great just across the street from Gare de l'est but that comes with the noise. Breakfast is good but not great. All told, I would stay there again.

I booked this hotel about a year in advance of a large sporting event in Paris via ***********. The Hotel obviously decided that they could make more money and so cancelled my booking citing that my credit card didn't have funds (I checked with my bank and they had approved the check twice). They then refused to rebook on the same terms or respond to any of my correspondence. Extremely disappointed with their price gouging, I would recommend picking a more moral hotel

Cheap hotel that felt mid-price. Very friendly staff, lovely clean room and a great location. Excellent value for money! You never know what you're going to get in Paris, but this was a very pleasant surprise.

This hotel was surprisingly excellent. Tucked away next to Burger King and with broken glass in the door, my expectations were pretty low but the staff were friendly and the room was amazing - brand new everything, super-comfortable bed, spotlessly clean, and quiet despite overlooking the road. Very, very impressed.

I was travelling from the UK to Germany and needed to stay the night in Paris so I booked a room at Hotel Modern'Est. I chose this hotel due to its location as I was travelling from Gare De L'Est to Germany. I arrived in Paris early afternoon and went to the hotel to check in as this was available from 2pm so I dropped off my baggage at the hotel. My room was really nice with a double bed and a decent sized bathroom. It also looked out onto the Boulevard de Strasbourg and I could see Gare De L'Est from my window. Once checked in and settled I hit the city and had a great time exploring. I got back late at night. There is a member of staff on the door and he gave me my card to get back into my room. I was a bit worried in case there would be alot of noise from outside but this was not the case in the end and I was not disturbed. I had a comfortable night's sleep and used the facilities. The shower was very powerful and refreshing. I had paid for breakfast for 9 Euros and this was fairly decent. Cereal along with bread rolls, cheese, ham, pain au chocolat, yoghurt and drinks. Overall I was very impressed with my stay and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Our stay here was great. The room was clean and we had fresh towels every day. There is no air conditioning but we stayed here in October so it wasn't too hot and there was a fan in the room. The area around the hotel pretty noisy and busy even late at night but with the windows closed and fan on the sounds didn't bother us. Really convenient location to transportation - metro right outside and Gare du Nord just a few minutes walk away if you're taking the Eurostar. Staff was really friendly and held our bags for a few hours after we checked out.
