Hôtel la Nouvelle République & Hammam

The hotel's location was excellent and conveniently situated for exploring the area, which was the main positive aspect of our stay. Unfortunately, the hotel itself felt neglected and in need of significant updating and a thorough deep clean.  Our room was on the sixth floor, which was the top floor, and it felt more like sleeping in an attic than a hotel room. The bathroom was extremely small and poky, making it uncomfortable to use. The room amenities were also disappointing. There was only herbal tea provided, with no standard tea or coffee options available. In addition, there was no minibar and very few of the usual amenities you would expect from a hotel of this type. Overall, the entire property felt tired and unclean. The lift was another downside—it was exceptionally narrow, felt quite claustrophobic, and could only accommodate two people at a time. While the location was good, the condition of the hotel and the lack of basic amenities meant that we would not choose to stay here again without substantial refurbishment and improvements to cleanliness.

Loved everything about our stay. Great service and atmosphere. Ruben made us feel so welcome and he went out of his way to help with reservations and great conversations. Highly recommend this beautiful family-owned hotel and the 11th arrondissement. We hope to be back!

Not super pleased with this stay, especially for the cost. Location was very good and the staff onsite as helpful, although there wasn't much they could do to help with my issues. We decided to pay more for a king suite, and the room we received was dark and dingy, with a carpeted floor (why?). I caught a glimpse into other (CHEAPER) rooms and they were much brighter. The room was clean but the bathroom had a layer of dust on the wainscotting and dirt on the walls. Here's what I'm really displeased about: the rooms are advertised as soundproofed which is a full lie and needs to be removed immediately. We heard EVERYTHING in our room -- people coming up and down the stairs, every sound of people walking above, doors opening and closing, hair dryers and even people speaking in quiet voices in the next room. I was very displeased about this since it's the reason I booked the hotel in the first place. When I complained, I couldn't change rooms since the hotel was full. Staff said they would get in touch with the manager, who wrote to me via email. I have replied 3 times since and not heard a word back.

When we first arrived, the street on which this hotel sits is pretty dirty and run down, which is contrasted to the rest of Paris. My wife looked at me like I was crazy to have booked this hotel. Once inside, its done nicely with the available space. Our room was comfortable though the bathroom was very cramped, providing little room to reach the toilet. The air conditioner leaked, ultimately leading to a heavy mildew smell. The breakfast was spartan with little to speak for it other than it was food but at a 15 euro cost was hardly worth it. Overall, we had a pleasant experience but this is definitely not a 5 or a 4 star experience. If you are on a tight budget, this has the basics.

Stayed here for two nights, the front clerk was great, knew English and was very helpful. The area is good location if you want to be away from the center of Paris. The metro station is a few minutes away about 10-15 from the Hotel. The rooms are nice a little small but you can work with them, there is a lot of night activities with the local people so it can be a little noisy in the night. Overall it was a nice stay.

The staff are excellent, efficient, flexible, and kind. The king size room was well designed. Love that there was water and loose tea in the room, a table and two comfortable, stylish chairs to sit, and nice windows with a view of the pretty architecture on the street. Bigger than other hotel rooms for about the same price, a delicious breakfast with several options, beautiful lobby areas, and loved the hammam too!

Great hotel! Highly recommended. Friendly staff, excellent breakfast service, room was clean. Appreciated the attention to detail with decor and helpful items in the room - wall outlets near bed, nice side lamps, kettle with tea, etc.

Definitely nice clean room and bathroom and the amenities were okay could be better. The hammam is out of service which is a shame as it’s one of the key selling points and was not informed that it was out of order.
