This was about our 6th holiday at the Malama Beach with our son, probably our last family holiday for a while as he's grown up now ! We've returned so many times over the years as we love it so much here & can't imagine a better setting & holiday in the Protaras area. The location above Malama beach is stunning, we feel it's worth it to pay for a pool & sea view room rather than a garden view, our 2 double rooms were in block 17 & the view from the balcony was idyllic. The rooms are modern & the cleaners come in every day, the cleanliness of the resort is excellent. The hotel is situated in Kapparis, a quiet village a short car or bus journey from Protaras, it has a few good restaurants ( Karas is our favourite) & bars & a large supermarket & an ice cream shop, all easily walkable from the Malama. It's very quiet at night so no noise problems when getting to sleep. The Malama beach is a public beach below the hotel, it's only small but has sunbeds & umbrellas, only €2.50 each like all the Cyprus beaches. It has beautiful clear water & there's a watersports place & an attractive beach cafe bar overlooking it. The pool areas are large & attractive, you're allocated sunbeds on your 1st day for your whole holiday, this takes all the stress out, no need for a towel laying race in the mornings here !!! You also get free pool towels that you can change every 3 days which is very useful. There's activities organised most days but there's no pressure to join in eg pool aerobics, darts, boules etc, our son enjoyed the water polo matches. He used to love the football pitch when younger. There's a kids disco every evening & professional acts on the outdoor stage at the Granita bar now, we only went to the quiz night this time as we're on B & B & tend to eat out in Protaras & Kapparis then stay out in these places. The entertainment was excellent for our son when he was younger. We always go B & B though most people are on all inclusive, the breakfast is wonderful, fresh watermelon every day & other fruits & yoghurts, cooked breakfast items, a wide range of breads & pastries, cereals, smoked salmon & prawns some days, an omelette station & waffle/crepe/ pancakes in turn station, such a wide choice of breakfast foods. It really sets you up for the day. Lastly & most importantly in the list of reasons we love the Malama are the staff, we've known most them for years now & it's so lovely to be welcomed back by such kind people. They're all so helpful & caring, we must mention especially Lenia & Alexia on reception, Viktoria who was new to us on activities this time, Theodorus in charge of the sunbeds & towels & his colleague (sorry don't remember his name) & above all Mr Roussos the restaurant manager at breakfast. Mr Roussos is such a courteous person who would go out of his way to make you happy, he's trained his waiting staff to be so polite & efficient & hard working, they are a credit to him ! Mr Roussos is a wonderful maitre d' & he & all the staff hav
