Als je de lange oprijlaan afrijdt, komen steeds meer elementen van de boerderij in zicht. Het is een prachtige plek om te ontspannen, en we waren hier slechts voor één nacht als tussenstop - we hebben allebei aangegeven dat we een speciale reis terug naar dit hotel zouden maken, omdat het zo glorieus en gastvrij was. Restaurant was prachtig, en het personeel (we hadden slechts één meisje te pakken dat voor het restaurant, de winkel en onze kamer zorgde) was briljant. Maar het meest memorabele deel? Ontmoeting met hun Rhodesian Ridgeback Siemu, die zo verrukt was en die ons zo inspireerde, dat we nu zes maanden later er zelf een hebben; Otis.

The farm surrounding is picturesque and we loved the cabin. What a nice touch to have a gift for the children too! The hospitality was excellent, I highly recommend this if you are looking for some peace and tranquility.

Hidden Gem : fantastic, romantic, gorgeous set up with lovely small details. You see the owner’s love for decorating, it makes you feel at home. Lovely flowers in the room. Super environment, super nice team which really spoiled us they were lovely. Top food, beautiful view and star gazing nights. Everything was perfect and we were sorry to leave

This wine estate is an absolute hidden gem off the beaten path in the Cango Valley, Oudtshoorn. The farm is picturesque and the farmstead nestles between mountains, vineyards and grazing sheep. Manina Smuts is a five star hostess and accepted our accommodation booking on short notice and she along with her excellent team and Seeumeeu, the dog, awaited us with smiles, chilled wine on ice, fresh flowers, wood by all the fireplaces and lots of personal touches. The gorgeous farm accommodation comprises of villas, cottages and a bush camp. We overnighted in ‘Ou Skooltjie’ and ‘The Bakhuis” with its gorgeous interiors - serene, luxurious and exceptionally comfortable. We loved our charming cottages. The quality linen, mattress and plush, luxury towels ensured a blissed and blessed in-room experience. We savoured the beautifully presented, flavoursome dishes at breakfast. Ideal for a dream stay combined with personal service and Swartberg peace.

A pure gem with breathtaking views on the mountain and on the wineyard. Impeccable service and what a friendliness of the staff! Delicious food paired with their own superb wines. Eye for detail in the rooms, on your plate… in short TOP TOP TOP!!!

We had the most lovely stay at The Kombuys. The surroundings are beautiful, the rooms spacious and cosy with an eye for detail. The food is delicious, their own wine even more! Lee and the rest of the staff were extremely thoughtful and helpful. One of the unexpected highlights during our stay in South-Africa!

Beautiful stay, friendly staff, diner at restaurant was fantastic. Nice touch with welcoming us with a bottle of their own estate wine. Only comment, the pool at the villa looked dirty hence we didnt went for a swim.

place is unbelieveable, go try it is the only way to find out how nice the place and people are, a must is the restuarant and the stay. the smaller details other hotels have not even thought of, but they have implemented. . seeing is believing, the food is fantastic

Superbulous! The service was excellent from the time of arrival to departure. Products are locally produced or sourced - the wagyu steaks are exceptional. Staff are well trained and given opportunity to excel. The accomodation, dating back to 1814, is very comfortable and stylish. What a nice experience.
