Le Clos d'Olea

Disappointing experience due to the attitude of the (young) managing couple. We booked a room on March 28th. The only remaining one was the Chambre Romatique Dorée at Euro 200.00 a night. Once there we inquired about the breakfast times and were told that the room has been converted into a Gîte (self catering appart) and breakfast was no longer part of it. This info was not communicated and no were indicated. Their website, room directory, in room price déclaration and signs posted at the entrance, still declare this chambre as a”room”. We paid the full price for it but didn’t get the services. By the way, there is no TV nor a safety deposit in the room, pool was open but not heated, no pool towels in the room, spider web and dust balls under the bed, ants crawling on the floor. The roof above the terrace is not properly finished as per local standards. With the “conversion” into a Gîte, the bed was moved from its original spot to the opposite wall, leaving a “golden” square on the place it used to be. There are bay windows on both sides (courtyard and terrace). To have privacy, one needs to close the curtains on the courtyard side as it is a passage way to the parking. When leaving the room, curtains cannot be closed properly as door is blocked by them. (Photos are available if interested). We did mention some of this to the couple. Responses on the defensive side and “anyhow” the place is rented all the time, so what…

This is a lovely property. We stayed in a cottage on the ground level for 3 nights. The room itself was lovely, but open to people walking by. What was hardest was the lack of communication. I booked on their website, so more rooms were available then going through a third party. After booking,I sent two emails concerning the possibility of getting breakfast, since they also had B & B rooms, but never heard anything back. I didn't get info on check-in time. When we arrived at 3:30, and read the note on the door which stated that no one would be around until 4:00, we came back at that time. The person who greeted us was the owner, I found out later. He never told us that he lived in the back of the property. When it came time to check out (11:00 according to the book in the cottage), I could not find anyone on site. We left thinking that the owners already had our credit card number from when we made the deposit. We found out soon (via email, which the owner seemed unable to use to answer us prior to our stay), that we needed to return to give them a card physically. (A French b & b that we had just left a few days earlier used the card they had on file, so I assumed that would be true here). Luckily, we were not far, and returned to settle up. That's when we found out the owner lived on the other side of the fence.....would have been nice to know that. The only other thing that was strange was the lack of "supplies" in the cottage. We had one roll of toilet paper for 3 nights, with no back-up stored anywhere. If we had planned to cook in the cottage, there were no staples to get us started - olive oil, salt and pepper, etc. That's fine if you are driving to this destination and can bring supplies from home. We arrived on a plane and could not bring those supplies back and forth. All in all, although a lovely place, I got the feeling that we really weren't welcome.

Un accueil sympa. Un lieu reposant et magnifique. Parking, terrain de pétanque, coin convivial..Nous avons passé le Week-end en gîte. Piscine chauffée. Serviettes de bain, piscine et draps fournis. On recommande à 100%. Réservez vite!

Wir haben auf Grund der tollen Bewertungen viel erwartet - alle Erwartungen wurden übertroffen. Sehr schöne Anlage in einem alten Landhaus mit sehr schönem Garten. Ferienwohnung mit Terrasse und tollen Blick in die Weinberge. Hochwertig und modern ausgestattet. Toller Pool. Sehr nette Gastgeber.

Très bel endroit au calme. Petit-déjeuner super. Chambre confortable et propre. Seul bémol, pas facile de contacter les propriétaires à l’arrivée. Ne pas s’attendre à la convivialité d’une chambre d’hôte traditionnelle, mais plutôt à une relation commerciale. Pas de table d’hôte possible

C’est notre deuxième séjour. Tout est parfait le cadre la piscine le petit-déjeuner sans oublier les hôtes toujours à votre écoute On vous le recommande mais ne pas oublier de réserver c’est souvent complète et c’est bien normal vu la qualité de l’endroit

Sehr schönes privat geführtes Hotel auf dem Land, mitten im Luberon. Von hier lässt sich die Gegend hervorragend erkunden. Das Hotel und das gesamte Anwesen sind sehr gepflegt und alles ist sehr sauber. Die Ausstattung der Zimmer ist zweckmäßig mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Es gibt einen schönen Pool mit Liegen und Sonnenschirmen. Das Frühstück, herzhaft und süß, mit Joghurt und frischem Obstsalat ist sehr lecker. Der Gastgeber Antoine ist sehr sehr freundlich und bemüht. Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt und empfehlen es gerne weiter.
