Room wasn't that well equipped for the money--no comfortable chairs, not much place to put luggage, and the premium channels on the TV were out of order. But the staff was friendly, the room was clean, and the location was good.

Our room was comfortable and quiet and breakfast was good. They made a fire in a huge beautiful fireplace which made the breakfast room cozy. It was a great alternative to a chain hotel. We will definitely stay again.

We booked this place last minute for the three of us to get away and it was such a nice surprise. The place looked good enough in photos, but when we arrived it was even better: Warm, inviting, clean, and nicely appointed rooms. Enjoyed breakfast by the large fireplace and the proximity to everything. We would definitely come back again.

It’s a cute boutique hotel. Very clean, easy self check-in process. My husband and I had a comfortable stay, and we will come back again.

I have two complaints; one involves safety and the other comfort. The Ellery had no landline in the room. There are a considerable number of people who do not have a cell phone. Without a landline in the room, it would be a dangerous situation if a hotel guess was unable to easily call 911. Timing is crucial at such moments and running down the hall for help is no solution. I believe the hotel is reckless in this matter.
My second complaint is that there was no reading light on one side of the bed. I as well as most people read in bed at a hotel. This would be an easy fix.
And finally, the Ellery has a large, lovely fireplace. On my stay the weather was cold and rainy. There was kindling, paper and wood logs; but no fire. There was great potential for a cozy sitting room.
On the plus side, the continental breakfast was very good.

Very friendly people who really want us to enjoy our time there. Nice common area for breakfast that was also great for snacks and working remotely by the fireplace.

I especially loved the huge fireplace with cauldron in the eating area. The bed was very comfortable and clean. The products in the bathroom were top notch. I appreciate it.

For our one night stay, our room was very clean and spacious. Breakfast was adequate, with enough to get us started on our day. The street is interesting with many beautiful old homes. It was a nice area to walk around. A good option for an overnight in the Northampton area.
