A Place at the Beach by Capital Vacations

This place is the most run down outdated and smallest condo we've ever been in, with the most absurd rules including a $500 cleaning fee and then we're told to take off all bedding ourselves ,clean and load dishwasher, take out garbage, make sure all furniture is back in it's exact spot, the pull out sofa bed had a mattress that had brown stains all over the top and bottom and was maybe 2 inches thick. It was not able to be used because all we felt was springs. We paid till Friday it we left on Monday! We stayed two nights due to them telling us it was handicap accessible,dad is in wheelchair and he could not move in the condo due to size,could not shower because it was too tiny. It was just awful all around.

This is an older facility but it is in great shape and kept very clean. It’s located close to many points of interest in the North Myrtle Beach area. In fact, the road to Hwy 17 comes out directly across from the entrance to Barefoot Landing. I recommend giving it a try.

This was one of the worst condos that I have ever experienced. A sister company (Barefoot Resort) transferred me to this property. I thought it had to be better than the condo with Barefoot. Wrong! The condo had mold on ceiling in every room, baseboards, bath room, air vents, etc. The towel rack had been torn off the wall. Paint chipping off wall and bathroom door would not close due to expansion of wood at the bottom of door. Bathroom rugs were disgusting as well as the shower. There were no towels or wash clothes in entire unit and the smell was awful.

Condo was clean, staff was friendly, and a great view of the ocean. Condo was small but there was only 2 of us. No big deal! Great location in North myrtle beach. There was the usual invitation for a free breakfast and presention for timeshare. We didn't attend the sales talk, learned our lesson with that years ago. Lots of restaurants near by. Southern sunshine breakfast was our favorite. I would recommend this condo for a good value.

Some of the reviews were iffy but upon arrival we were very satisfied with our unit. It is not a large unit 600 sq feet but was enough for the three of us all female. I plan on renting this place again. I loved the porch although it is small only 2 chairs and a small table but great view from our place. We were in 407. Great access to the beach and a lifeguard is right where you enter the beach. If you are looking for a upscale unit this would not, be it but it is a good place for those of us happy with a nice, clean unit with great linens and a ocean view. Towels were great and exchanged on Tuesday and the sheets were very good - ironed and starched, I think. The pillows were very good too and there were plenty of them on the bed. Everything you need in the kitchen if you don't want to cook big meals. It is very small since it is in the hallway between the bedroom and the living room. Very little counter space. You have to be creative on where to put stuff or don't buy very much! One thing is that one of the front big eyes on the stove did not work but we didn't fix anything but eggs, so the other eye was fine. We ate breakfast and lunch in the condo and went out to eat each night. As with many rental units, the carpet could have used another cleaning but then it may have been clean, and it was just old. Walls are not the best insulated because sound does carry. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay. I would not want to be in this unit with big kids unless everyone gets along really well - a necessity in a small unit!!

I was with my sister and our teenage sons for Spring break. I brought a lot of things from home but they also had a fully stocked kitchen equipping with everything from Tupperware to a teapot. The room was located on the side of the building so we had a clear view of both the beach and the parking lot. The young man who checked us in was very nice and all of the people who i crossed paths with on the property were pleasant.. the only complaint that i had was a very strong urine smell in the stairwell. I assume someones dog couldn't hold it anymore. All around it was a great, comfortable cozy place and i would definitely book again.

Great area. Just don’t like having to ***** all the beds and carry off trash myself… that’s housekeeping job absolutely everywhere I’ve ever stayed all over the US including Hawaii & Alaska. Also need a regular size kitchen trash can - not a small one. One fast food trip for 4 fills small trash can up.

We were very upset to learn that Phase 1 is 10 blocks from the main resort, no pool, no elevator. 40 stairs to our 3rd floor unit. No mention of this anywhere on any site. Ist morning found live, largw palmetto bugs in unit.

The property here is pretty awesome. Pool with water slide, basketball court, tennis court, shuffle board, fire pit, charcoal grills and grass grills free to use, playground and so much more. Easy access to the beach with beautiful new walkway. Not sure how the actual rooms work here, many are privately owned and rented out. We stayed at “A place at the beach 317” and well I will say it’s a cute place, it was very dirty and grimy. We had to clean the entire place ourselves before we could even stay there. Cleaners were to come back out and re-clean but never showed. This was no fault of the actually property though. This was through a rental company. If you’re able to find a property that’s well cleaned I’d say this is a great property to choose with all the amenities! Oh, if you cook in these rentals be prepared to set off the fire alarm a couple times… be sure to turn on the fan on microwave, ceiling fan and any other fan you can find.
