Rakuten STAY Motel Nikko Kinugawa

This motel provides a fantastic, home-like, and comfortable experience with excellent in-room amenities like a washing machine, artificial hot spring bath, rice cooker, and induction cooker. The location is convenient with nearby 7-11 access, making it worth the stay. However, the check-in process is inefficient due to tablet-only registration for all guests, a challenging remote operator, and a lack of elevators. This is a great, affordable choice for travellers looking for a "home away from home" experience in Japan. If the management improves the digital check-in procedure and provides better on-site support, this would be a perfect stay.

Like everything at this hotel, only self check in process that taking a bit time to manage.

The in room artifical onsen and the BBQ stove is good. However, the self check in process is quite long as there are nobody online late at night. A small cockcoach was found in the kitchen in our first night stay. There is no folding table in the balcony for use during BBQ. No hook inside the bathroom for hanging tower or clothes. A scissor should be provided will be much better. Overall it is a pleasant and relax stay in your property.

Good for family stay and the room is big and clean. There is a great Yakiniky restuarant nearby by walking distance.

Easy to check in and lots of space in the apartment. The kitchen was basic but we still able to prepare and cook food that we wanted. Loved the semi outdoor bath.

Large room, luggage can be fully opened. Chill vibe, with projector and bbq area. Hardware is not that up to standard, especially the air condition warm air is not working while the weather is also 0’c

No problem with the check-in and check-out, it was easy. I was expecting the entire unit is one the ground floor, it turn out that only one tatami room and the garage is on the ground floor, the rest are on 2nd floor. It is no problem since it was only 3 of us, we leave our big luggage on ground floor, bring up only the necessary things during our stay. It is an unmanned facility, I am impressed with the backup supports they have. We got locked out of the unit because we used the garage roller shutter to get out and forgot to unlock the main door from inside. We noticed it only when we returned to the unit in the evening. We managed to get help through iPad in the check-in container house, the security staff came within an hour to open the roller shutter and problem solved. It is spacious and we have a wonderful stay.
