Les Suites Massena

The location of this wonderful hotel was excellent in Place Massena and 2 minutes walk from the beach and the restaurant's in Old town. We took the tram from the airport to Jean Medicine tram station and 15 mins walk to the hotel. If you have heavy suitcases or have any health issues that prevents you climbing thee flights of stairs with your cases this hotel isn't for you. There's no lift, however this wasn't a problem for us . Check-in was easy and receptionist was fine and took us to our suite. Security keypads in each door which made us feel secure. Air-conditioned corridor to room's. Our suite room 7 was beautiful, well furnished with quality furnishings in a beautiful large room. There was a separate toilet and the bath, shower and his and her sinks were behind ta very large bed which was comfortable (soft mattress). The room was triple glazed so soundproofed very well from the busy square beneath. Beautiful views from the room of the square and hill's beyond. The room was serviced every day and spotlessly clean, no complaints. We couldn't get the safe to work so asked at reception who told us to speak to the receptionist the following day which we did and in turn he told us he would get the cleaner's to sort it. We still couldn't get the Safe to work. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel as there's plenty of Boulangeries nearby and cafés but it looked very nice. Absolutely stunning hotel, exceptionally clean, fantastic location in an old building (without a lift). We would definitely recommend and will return. Please be careful at the tram station as on our return trip to the airport we were both pickpocketed getting on the tram whilst getting our tram tickets out of our bags/pocket. We didn't notice until a lady pointed out that my backpack handbag was open and when I checked my for my purse it was stolen. Someone had seen a young woman open my bag as I got on the train and assumed it was my daughter. My husband had his wallet in the side pocket of his cargo shorts which was also stolen. A very distressing end to a wonderful holiday in this lovely place. So be vigilant and get tickets etc out before you get to the station, have bags tight to your chest.

No elevator and a little bit noisy, but very nice rooms in a beautiful spot

Such a stylish apartment. Clean, and smelling beautiful when you walk in. It's really stunning. The bath in the room is a special touch, but everything about the space is beautiful. It's in a great location, overlooking La Place Massena and just a short walk to the beach. Perfect for a break. We loved it.

Right i the centre of old town with great views and access to everything you need. The room is amazing and big.

Let’s start off with the positives. The location of these apartments are excellent, close to the Old Town with it’s many restaurants and bars, and also about a 2min walk to the promenade. We arrived at these apartments at around 9pm and quickly found out there was no lifts, so climbed 2 flights of stairs to the reception. A guy was there and showed us to our room on the 3rd floor (another 4 flights of stairs) and gave us our room code. The room was modern and clean and what we wanted to do was put our valuables in the room safe and go out to get something to eat. It was a combination safe and usually, you enter 4 numbers and press the # key. But this didn’t work for us, we tried a number of times but nothing. We looked around for instructions nearby but couldn’t find anything. So I went back down the stairs to reception to ask the guy there how to operate the safe. He said he would come up the next morning at 10.00am to show us. I told him we were planning going out now and we didn’t want to carry around all our valuables (camera, tablets, passports etc) and I also mentioned, we’d booked a train in advance to Monaco for the morning, so wouldn’t be there at 10.00am. His response was to shrug his shoulders, in a manner that seemed to indicate “tough”. I thought….great first impression to give off to your customers. Also in the room was a coffee maker and a complimentary small bottle of water. No instructions for the coffee maker either but I quickly worked this one out (put coffee pod in, press full cup). What I didn’t expect, is for the coffee pods and water not to be replenished when used. We used the 4 pods left in the room within 24hr of our 4 night stay. We can get our own water but who goes out to buy coffee pods? Those stairs really start to get to you by the 3rd day, we came back after 8hrs of walking around only to get up to our room to find the code we were using to get into our room wasn’t working. So I goes down to the reception (same guy) and tell him we can’t get into our room. He says “oh yes I changed the code, here’s the new one”. I’m ready to drop and need to come down 4 flights of stairs and then go back up them because he decided he wanted to change the code. The place is in an ideal location but the staff have no consideration or respect for it’s guests. Most importantly, if you have any mobility issues, this place is definitely not for you.

They are very nice hotel and very centra but we request a room with view and a king size bed because we slept with our baby and we didn’t get anything . They said that you guys you didn’t send our request plus the money what we paid wasn’t for a room with a view!

Overall good but there is no elevator!

Furniture amazing.. clean.. staff friendly but hardly to see them. this is not a hotel as claimed.. this is apartment devided into rooms. even my room is next to main door .. too noisy.. No elevator .. using stair to 3rd floor so often .. not recommend for seniors and people with health problems

The room and location are really a 5 star rating. Just a few minutes by foot to the beach and the view on the square and its fontain is suberb. Comfort level is great. Except.. hospitality isn’t. The people working at Suites Massena are really good at playing hide and seek or they just don’t like people. But you’d better make a career move to run a hotel on an desolated island. Upon arrival the reception said we had to pay for breakfast which we already did in advance and he said that wasn’t the case. BIG TIP; please don’t throw your money away to book a breakfast at this place. It is really not worth your money. We asked if we could get an extra croissant and she said; NO?! The French at their best! In every restaurant or even at each beachclub you could get a much better breakfast for 9,50€. Our window couldn’t be shut completely so the noise of the square echos in the entire room. The reception didn’t really care about it..
