Newport Student Village (Campus Accommodation)

房間、衞生間大小適中、乾淨，窗户可打開，床舒適，wifi好。有吹風機，衹有1個衣架，沒有洗頭液、浴液、電視。5個房間共用1個廚房，爐灶、微波爐、冰箱、餐桌、大小鍋具等一應俱全，附近有lidl超市，生活方便。離市中心近，步行10分鐘即可到達。距紐波特火車站有點遠，步行到酒店需20分鐘左右。

Great value for money I have to say. The room and kitchen area were clean and tidy and as it happens we had it to ourselves, but there's plenty of space if any of the other five rooms are occupied. We took a small TV from home and found reception no problem with our small aerial. No parking but if you drive up to the next roundabout and keep left on E Dock Road, there's plenty of on street parking in marked bays and you're ok between 6pm and 8am with 2 hours permitted either side so realistically it's 4pm till 10am. Friendly staff, and larger room than we expected. We'd definitely do this again.

Spent a couple of nights here while attending a concert in Cardiff centre. 10/15 minutes walk from station - plenty of trains to choose from. Limited parking available (£7.50/24 hrs) but secure. Easy access to/from main road. Rooms were very clean with shower wetrooms. Quiet location, with very easy access to the local Asda and Lidl. Common room shared between 5 rooms- fridge/freezer kettle etc etc. ( needed tea towel/s though). Mattresses were a bit worn, and could do with replacing but nevertheless the rooms were ok. Reception staffed 24 hours. Safe and secure.

I have been staying at the Newport Student Village on a weekly basis for over 5 years now. I have always found the staff to be helpful, the room clean, bed comfortable & warm in the winter. The kitchen is excellent, has all you need & means that i am not either eating pub food or takeaways. Above all i have always felt safe staying here. I have & would highly recommend.

Stayed here to visit Comic Con Wales 2022. Check in went smoothly, keys picked up from reception. Vending machines at reception and told about nearby Lidl and Asda. On arrival to the room I found the room very hotel. Room was pleasant for the price with a large double bed, desk and wardrobe. En suite bathroom pod which contained toilet, shower, mirror, bathroom shelf and sink. Mentioned at reception I needed a fan that night. Receptionist seemed to be in the process of being trained up by other receptionist. He was quite distant. Had to email reception a few hours later as no fan had been provided and another receptionist brought the fan up. Shared kitchen/TV room very clean with lots of facilities. Building very safe as key fob used around 4 times in the building to get to room. The walls are paper thin and I could hear the room next door's conversation from 7am on the Saturday which was very irritating as I didn't have to be up for my event until later. The room next door were stomping around and slamming doors. Even for the price, I would expect a shower I could get washed properly in. It was difficult as the shower pressure was very low and only a small trickle of water came out. Toiletries provided. Sheets were not changed during my 3 night stay nor were the bins emptied. There was no toilet brush which is basic hygiene. Top shelf of desk had not been cleaned and was very dusty. Apart from that, room very clean. Location excellent for local supermarkets, bingo Hall across the road and only a 5-10 taxi ride from the city centre and train station. A hairdryer was provided. All in all, excellent value for money and low price but a shower that enables proper washing is a basic human right and the very low water pressure needs to be addressed. The rooms and building need air conditioning due to the extreme heat in the summer.

Only stay here if you have no other options. I would compare it to similar conditions as prison! When I arrived to my room, the door was open so that was concerning! The kitchen is barely stocked, there is an oven but no oven gloves and all the dials had the text rubbed off! The bed is awful, I could count the springs in it through my back! The hallway stinks like 200 curries have been cooked here and what sort of hotel room doesn't have a TV. I get its £35 a night but so many of the basics were missing! Awful

Overall I like to sum up Newport student village staff besides the one coloured CSA out of hours are ****** ; rude and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to work here or even booking accommodation. I use to wonder why coloured student use to complain about racism ; now I understand they all racists in particular CSA variable , assistant manager , area manager . I speak from experience from working at Newport Student Village.

Be warned very unhelpful. Not flexible in rent paying if self- funding and not willing to be flexible. Have to pay large amounts as if getting a grant despite not getting a grant. Would not allow my eldest to pay monthly despite pleading with them. They looked at bank account and made their minds up on present amount in bank despite that having to last the year. Also kitchen surfaces poor, and oven not cleaned. The only good point is that electricity is included in the rent. They accused me of being rude on phone but I was very polite, didn't say anything rude, didn't sware, however was stressed, tearful and breathless as asthmatic.

We stayed here as there was a larger group of us so was cheap & we liked the idea of a joint space to hang out. 1 of the bedrooms was unusable as it was very messy & clearly hadn't been tidied from the visitors before us. The other rooms had clearly had a quick spruce but nothing more as there were toothpaste stains & general stains in the bathroom & in our room we only had half a toilet roll. I dont expect the Ritz but I do expect a level of cleanliness. Equally the common room stank as the rubbish hadn't been taken down after the previous guest. All of the rooms were excessively hot, I appreciate we're in an unprecedented heatwave but the common room was unusable as was SO hot. There is 1 tiny window & the door to the common area is a firedoor that beeps so you can't even let in any air. As such we hung out in the hallway which was just abouts bareable. I don't know how the students get on all year round. If you're willing to overlook things for cheap accommodation then it's fine I guess.
