Premier Inn Newcastle City Centre The Gate

Best place to stay as it is just right at the city centre.you can reach the shops in just few steps.room is clean.

We found this hotel to be in prefect range of where we needed to be, clean throughout and everything was good for us, from checking Inn, to the family room we were given (so spacious) and the breakfast and restaurant area. Easy to access, the hotel was easy to access for wheelchair users and there are 2 lifts in the hotel to access higher floors. The restaurant also has a small lift to gain access to the upper level for breakfast. Overall, I would stay here again and would recommend this hotel for a short stay.

Centrally located for the stag do i was on. Plenty of places within a 10 minute walk to satisfy our needs. Partying at night and a clear the head walk down on the quayside in the morning.

Great location in the middle of the city, perfect walking distance to all our planned activities. The staff are super friendly (especially the restaurant staff) and the room was lovely, however after requesting our room to be cleaned, our bedding was unchanged.

Stroppy check in staff spoiled the day… no second key provided… no Ultimate WIFI provide… no explanation provided…

I like Premier Inns - I've stayed in a lot of them. But this review is about whether their Plus rooms are really worth the extra money at this hotel. I have stayed in two Plus rooms and a normal room in this hotel. The Plus room has a fridge - if you're staying for a few days, that can be useful. The Plus room has a Nespresso machine. In my first Plus room it leaked but the coffee tasted good. In my second room it didn't leak but the coffee tasted a bit odd - maybe the machine needed cleaning/descaling. In both Plus rooms the Samsung televisions got a small selection of channels and didn't get any HD channels. In my normal room, the television gets all the Freeview channels including HD. I need an iron and ironing board when I travel on business. You get this in your Plus room. But a short walk down the corridor from my normal room and there's a room full of them to borrow. Both types of room have air-conditioning. The Plus room has a 'better' shower head apparently. I am far from convinced that a Plus room is worth the quite significant extra cost. I still like Premier Inns and I will continue to use them.

Ideal hotel as close to the football ground which was a 5 minute walk away.The hotel is ideally placed for shops etc and is only a 10 min walk from the station. The room was comfortable, clean and all the staff were friendly. The breakfast was also excellent value for money.
