Room looks dated, does not look like pictures. Shower ran out of hot water once.
Sound proof is not great, no outside sound but very loud from inside hotel. Housekeeping service and other guest extremely loud.

Het personeel bij de incheckbalie is erg vriendelijk, dat is dan ook meteen het enige positieve puntje van dit hotel. Toen we de deur van de kamer openden, kwam er een enorm muffe schimmellucht op ons af. De kamer oogt slecht. Het behang hangt op verschillende plekken los van de muur, het tapijt is erg vies en versleten. De lampenkappen zitten vol scheuren en vlekken. Plaatjes aan het plafond hangen los. Toen wij naar bed gingen zaten er verschillende vlekken op het beddengoed, alsmede verschillende zwarte haren. (Wij hebben geen zwart haar). De volgende beproeving was de badkamer. Het bad is oorspronkelijk wit, maar in de huidige staat geel. Het douchegordijn zit vol vlekken, zelfs een aantal bloedvlekken aangetroffen. Ook zaten er haren aan de muur en in de badkuip. Om veilig te douchen hebben wij badslippers gekocht bij een CVS. De eerste ochtend werden wij om 06:00AM gewekt door de wekker, deze was echter niet door ons ingesteld. Housekeeping is niet gekomen. Handdoeken hebben wij zelf moeten ophalen bij de receptie. ATM was buiten gebruik, wifi was erg langzaam. Ook is het een hele opgave om van de verdieping naar de lobby te gaan met de lift, hier sta je gemiddeld 10-15 minuten te wachten op de lift. Voor het hotel ligt een berg vuilniszakken waar ratten tussen lopen. Een tip voor iedereen; voor $200-250 per nacht kan je beter naar het Mariott. Ga hier niet heen!!

My friends and I reserved 2 rooms back in April and they were confirmed. A day before received email welcoming us for our stay at the NYMA Hotel with pictures of the hotel. Arrived and was told hotel was closed and reservations were moved to a hotel across the street and they had no rooms with the previously requested king (2) beds. No option but accept since it was marathon weekend and all rooms in the city booked. No apologies, no explanation. Many others in the hotel had the same experience and were angry. Can a hotel get away with this????

I booked my stay in NYC through *********** in July, and less then 2 weeks prior to my trip then cancelled saying they over booked. Well be carefull this hotel, I have been to NYC many times but this is a first!

Great location, Nice place. Super convenient to subways. Very friendly people. Buttttt!! The bathtub did not drain the water. They tried to fix it but never could. They had to move me to another room. They were supposed to give me a credit to my card but I never saw the credit. Room - 1203

as soon as we arrived we were given room that was not cleaned up, the new room on the third floor, opposite a night club: impossible to rest well. The hotel is old, wall paper and carpet ruined, the room smells damp. Apart from the location, the hotel is not worth the amount we paid.

I had beel stolen in this hotel someone went into my room when I was out and stole my stuff and my credit card and about 3000 dollars with my documents and passports the hotel keep telling me go to the police we have nothing to do about it I need my money and documents back this hotel is not safe please don`t go there the are dealing with thiefs and they gave them cards of the rooms to steal guests

The Hotel used to be in a nice area but changed drastically. Drunks, beggars and homeless people all around the Hotel. Only one receptionist when we arrived and we had to wait an hour to check in. The worst part was checking out. We had to leave our room at 1200 and we were shocked to learn that the Hotel had no place to store our luggage. Our pick up to the airport was at 5 o'clock so we had to drag our suitcases 2 blocks, pay 30 dollars to have them stored in a souvenir shop. This is the 1st Hotel we've been to that doesn't offer you a place to store your luggage. We have been to this Hotel many times, but after this trip we will never go back. The Hotel offered contactless check in but none of the machines worked. l

I arrived late (about midnight) due to a flight delay and they couldn't find my reservation. I was able to find an email with the confirmation number so they sent me across the street since all their rooms were occupied. They told me that the Hotel at Fifth Avenue is own by the same group as the Nyma (I was glad I only had to spend one night there). They told me to come over the next morning and they would hold my bags until my room was ready. But when I arrived around 10 am, my room was ready and I didn't need to check my bags. They told me that they'd upgraded my room due to the inconvenience the night before (apparently it was a bit larger). I'm not sure it was an upgrade...I'd stayed there several years before in an identical room (different floor). The rooms that end in 05 seem to be the larger rooms. I appreciated the microwave and fridge (I'd requested a room with those features). The room was clean and they even came in the next day and made the bed, provided fresh towels, etc. (something even expensive hotels have cut back on due to Covid-19). They no longer serve breakfast, but it's not a problem to pick something up from the numerous stores/restaurants in the area and tucking it in the fridge for the next morning. The toilet didn't seem to flush correctly and they sent someone up to fix it within 15-20 minutes.
