Trident Inn & Suites New Orleans

Upon checking into the hotel, there was a weird smell through the corridor. Once inside the room, there was what looked like smeared feces on the wall, so I requested to be moved to a new room. The new room was more pleasing on the eyes but had its own set of problems. The headboards were dirty, handprints all on it, there were stains all over the walls. The bathroom tub looked disgusting. There was rust in the tub, and the wall is peeling. I requested extra towels from the front desk, some rude lady with pink hair, she fussed and said we weren’t allowed to have more than 2 sets. Even after explaining to her I was using them in the tub to keep the rust away from everyone. Not to mention last night around 11pm some weird man started banging on the bedroom door claiming to be the hotel owner looking for a cart that was in our room blocking the adjoining room door that wouldn’t lock closed.. he even said he would throw my family and myself out the hotel if we didn’t open the door. Definitely will never be back. After yelling at me I told him his worries are on the wrong thing. Our room was horrible and he didn’t do anything to try to fix it. It’s disgusting and I really deserve my money back for this disgusting stay. I tossed and turned all night. Couldn’t even trust sleeping under the covers. Not to mention the microwave in the rooms both looked like this. Had to eat our leftovers cold because of how nasty it looks.

The place was dirty the staff attempted to change my room but all the rooms especially bathrooms were dirty.

The fitness suite has nothing that works. All of the equipment was old and broken so unusable, literally not a single piece of equipment works in the room. The maid service was very minimal, they didn’t even take out/clean the bins even though we were there for multiple days. It was a good price and mostly clean (minus the massive dead cockroach that we found that the maid wouldn’t clean).

The rooms were decent and clean. On first day we had problems with not getting cold water at faucet, we thought someone was in the room because the TV was on until we figured out the TV doesn't turn off unless you unplug it (The girl at the front gave me a reason, but it didn't make sense), the volume on TV didn't work, and new led was needed for lamp it flickered. There were several people smoking outside the door and my husband was offered a toke in front of our kids. The breakfast was okay just waffles and cereal with no eggs available. The pool wasn't available the entire stay due to some rain, but when rain cleared up was sunny for a bit it was still closed so we never got pool bracelets. Then was told Friday they would put is in another room/have maintenance check faucet cold water issue on Saturday. So wife went to front desk Saturday and was told their maintenance guy is almost in and they would send him, but we had to call later in afternoon as no one had shown up to room yet. When maintenance came he fixed everything easily except he couldn't figure out how to make the TV turn off he thought it was odd too and I said it's probably the Cox box since it kept going to that channel I'm not sure if he reported it to the front desk it never got resolved. The biggest annoyance was the smoke alarms going off on Saturday night and very early Sunday morning around 3-4 times. We were told by front desk they can't control what their guests do. They did accomodate late checkout

To be honest, I didn’t have much to complain about for the price. At first, my boyfriend and I had stayed in one room and it was pretty clean. The only things that didn’t work were the hair drier and air vent in the restroom, which I normally turn on while showering so it doesn’t feel too humid once I get out, but that was no big deal. We, very last minute, decided to stay another night and thankfully they did have another room available. This room also looked clean, the hair dryer worked and so did the air vent in the restroom. The only things that didn’t work in this room were the clothing iron and for some reason the tv was stuck in mute. I would try to press the volume buttons and it didn’t seem to work. Thankfully, the staff there were very helpful and managed to get that fixed. Once again, no big deal, the only thing that ****** after the second night there was that my boyfriend woke up feeling really itchy and we noticed he had red bite marks all over his arms, legs, and even a few on his face. At first I thought it was from mosquitos, but upon further inspection and based on the pattern of the bite marks, we believe that the room we stayed in during the second night had bed bugs. I wasn’t affected as much since I wore some long sleeve pijama with pants, while my boyfriend slept in a tank top and some shorts. I didn’t let front desk know because I was unsure at the time, but after looking up what bed bug bites look like, I was certain that that’s what bit my boyfriend.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague. 20 minutes waiting for somebody to come to the front desk to check in. Get to the room and they haven’t paid their COX cable bill, so no TV. Try to turn on the lights, and because they purchased cheap lightbulbs and put them in dimmable lights. Only one light works, the others just flash. Had only planned to stay there to get some quick sleep, so really could care less about all of that. Went to bed at 9 o’clock, so could get up at 5 am to hit the road. 10 PM fire alarm goes off in the hotel and wakes us up out of a dead sleep. Try to get back to sleep, fire alarm again at 11:55 PM, then again at 12:35 AM. Got zero sleep that night. Went to take a shower the next morning and water is pouring out of the ceiling over the shower. Go to report these issues to the front desk, again wait 10 minutes before somebody shows up to the desk. Contacted ******* regarding this, and they said they would reach out to the hotel. Get a message from ******* that the hotel declined to do anything about it. Then they have the nerve to send me an email saying hope you enjoyed your stay.Do yourself a favor. This hotel was just purchased to do the bare minimum and extract money from people. When you have major issues, including getting zero sleep and most likely having slept in a room full of mold, thanks to the water pouring out of the ceiling, they refuse to do anything.This hotel should be shut down. Contacting health inspector today.

The room was musty and the hard floor felt moist. There was mold on the ceiling that you could tell had been painted over and burns on the blanket. I found it difficult to breathe in the room as I have asthma. The staff were friendly but the cleanliness of the room was not satisfactory.
