Xizi International Youth Hostel (Chaoyang Plaza Xiguan Night Market)

really cool hostel with a huge common room great for socialising! the staff is so lovely and great location easy to get to some awesome night markets!

The location is great, it is simple but the beds have curtains. Very close to the train station and centre. Easy check in!

Easy room, not even toilet paper provided

Horrible, absolutely filthy! There are BEDBUGS!!unfortunately, I didn’t notice them the first night, but I ended up covered in bites that itched for an entire week. At night, plenty of large COCKROACHES came out. I only stayed because there were no other hostels in the area available for foreigners on my dates. This is the worst hostel I’ve been to in Asia. The bathroom is disgusting: the mirror and floor were filthy, and there was hair in the shower. I stayed several nights and didn't see the owner clean even once. The mattresses are also covered in mold stains. Avoid this place at all costs!!!

I have mixed feelings about this place, it's cheap and a great location. However, it smelled damp and of smoke, despite the no smoking policy. If those things don't bother you, it's great, I myself I found it challenging. It was also a bit messy that there wasn't any storage, there was lockers, but they weren't usable or were locked. What they did well was communication, including sending me self checkin instructions and directions.

Unfortunately, it was not what I expected as I booked a capsule (currently, the pictures are removed from this page) and the hostel was like a dorm that looked different. There were pluming issues and the place was not clean. I think it's in the middle of renovation. The staff took a lot of time to respond, I couldn't even find the check-in place or a counter, until neighbors helped me. It's like a normal apartment complex with a corridor that has many doors, so you have to knock on one of the doors and tell them you arrived. I hope it gets better after renovation.
