Hotels bij Historical Museum of Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, Nanjing

Het is ongeveer 5 minuten lopen van het natuurgebied Laomendong. De kamer is ruim, schoon en comfortabel. Onze kamer ligt dicht bij de straat, maar 's nachts is het rustig. Op de dag van inchecken hebben we gebeld of we zelf wilden rijden? Wij rijden zelf en de B&B beschikt over een parkeerplaats. Maar het is een beetje ver weg van station Wudingmen van metrolijn 3, en het duurt ongeveer 20 minuten lopen.

De kamer was heel mooi en het personeel was erg vriendelijk. Er hing een lichte muffe geur bij het binnenkomen van de kamer, wat mogelijk te maken heeft met de regen van de afgelopen dagen. Ik zou vooral het ontbijt willen prijzen, dat veel variëteiten, goede smaak en veel keuzemogelijkheden heeft. Volle punten voor de geraspte varkensvlees- en ingelegde groentennoedels.

This is the first time I've had an absolutely 10/10 experience with any hotel. This particular hotel also outranks every other Marriott I've ever stayed at. I genuinely could not think of a single negative point. I was only in Nanjing for 2 nights, in town for a meeting, and I'm so glad I chose to stay here. Firstly, the room is exactly as advertised. Marriott hotels always have the fluffiest pillows, but this particular hotel had the most HEAVENLY pillows. The bed was so comfy that I ended up postponing my day plans just so I could sleep in! I didn't realise how desperately I needed that rest and recuperation, and am glad I chose to stay here and get what I needed. Also, this hotel does not skimp on the water - most hotels will only give you 2 tiny bottles a day, which if it's blazing hot outside, can be frustrating, especially if you want to boil water for tea/coffee in the morning. This hotel provides 4-5 complimentary bottles of water per day. In many ways, I felt like they anticipated what I'd need and would provide it before I even had the chance to ask. There is also an ironing board stowed in the room, which for me was a lifesaver as I had an important meeting. As other reviewers have mentioned, the location is indeed fantastic. I was so relieved to find that after a long train journey, I only needed to hop on the subway for 1 stop - I didn't even need to exit the building, as the hotel is located inside the mall connected to the subway station. The breakfast spread is not too bad either, with the highlight for me being the espresso machines. When I tell you this machine delivers the most divine coffee in 10 seconds, I am not kidding. It was one of my favourite things and a great way to kickstart a busy day. At check-in, the reception staff ensured they gave me all the info I needed. I noticed this is often skipped at other hotels as staff are shy or reluctant to speak in English, which results in foreign guests missing out on relevant info or complimentary perks - but the Marriott team refused to let language be an obstacle. I was glad to learn free snacks and coffee were available in the executive lounge each evening. While I was there, the executive lounge manager - I think her name is Sheila, apologies if I've gotten this wrong - took the time to introduce herself and ask if I needed anything. She was so polite and genuinely seemed to want to improve the experience for guests. To me, these small touches are what set a service-oriented luxury hotel apart from others. On my first night, I'd arrived pretty exhausted after having sat on a delayed train for hours, and I wanted to order takeaway as I didn't have the energy to go out. They have ******* lockers positioned right at the hotel entrance, which you can unlock with your phone and collect your deliveries. Being a foreigner who doesn't understand Chinese very well, I wasn't sure how to navigate this, but the reception staff went out of their way to help me, ensuring they stayed with me until I'd collected my parcel - it was not at all necessary for them to help me so much, but they did, and I'm very grateful for that :) I spent the entire month traveling in China and so, looking back, am able to compare all of the hotels and experiences from this trip. This particular hotel ranks 10/10 for me not only because of the location, but also because of the kindness and professionalism of staff. Things can sometimes be confusing or overwhelming for foreigners, and this was the only hotel where staff didn't hesitate to rush in and offer to help, no matter how small the issue. Even the gentleman at the coffee bar in the lobby was so kind and polite - and might I add, everyone at this hotel speaks English, so they really do cater to an international crowd. Housekeeping staff too were very sweet, always greeting you and asking if you needed extra bottles of water. Thank you for a relaxing, delightful stay! I hope to come again and stay longer next time.

It was a quick trip, it is away from the city but the price is worth it, I loved the bed and the pillow soncnfortable to get in. You do have to call or have someone open the door for you to access to the 25th floor maybe announce this it could be easier for you. The uncle helped us and honestly we were ok with the room

De locatie is uitstekend, waardoor reizen erg gemakkelijk is. Het biedt ook veel privacy, met verduisterende gordijnen rond de bedden die het licht volledig blokkeren, wat een gevoel van veiligheid geeft. Het metrostation ligt op korte loopafstand. De receptioniste was erg geduldig en behulpzaam. Over het algemeen was mijn verblijf uitstekend. De gemeenschappelijke ruimtes waren erg schoon en hygiënisch, en het personeel was allemaal erg beleefd en respectvol. Er waren geen onaangename geuren, en ik kan een verblijf hier van harte aanbevelen; het was echt een geweldige ervaring.

During my four-day, three-night stay, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and relaxed amidst the friendly hosts, clean facilities, and quiet surroundings. The only drawback was that the buffet selection was the same every day. Aside from that, the drinks and cocktails at the U-Bar were incredibly refreshing and delicious. I'd like to thank Joji and Kelly for their special attention and hospitality. Even though we didn't have a Korean host, they did their best to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Incidentally, a Korean host came on our last day, so I think Koreans can also stay here without worry. I'd love to visit again if I have the chance.

Giving 100/10, because it is the most welcoming community I’ve met so far! They have a bar on the first floor with live music on weekends, and everything was clean, because the place is new. Staff is kind and caring, I felt safe and welcomed as a foreigner. There are some nice Muslim restaurants not far from the place too.

Hoewel klein, heeft het alles. De kamer is schoon en netjes. Het is vrij betaalbaar. Je kunt met de fiets naar de Qinhuai-rivier, Xinjiekou en andere plaatsen. Het is niet ver van het metrostation. De service bij de receptie is erg goed. Ze helpen me met het verplaatsen van de dozen. De dame bij de receptie hielp me de dozen direct naar de taxi te verplaatsen. 🙏 Heel erg bedankt😊 Het enige nadeel is dat de kamerdeur niet geluiddicht is en dat je het lawaai op de gang goed kunt horen.

Het Nanjing Xinjiekou Suning Novotel heeft een fantastische locatie, op loopafstand van het winkelgebied Xinjiekou en het metrostation, waardoor het zeer gunstig gelegen is voor winkelen en reizen. Het personeel bij de receptie is efficiënt en biedt een warme en attente service. De kamers zijn schoon en netjes, met comfortabel beddengoed, goede geluidsisolatie en kamerhoge ramen die een prachtig uitzicht bieden. Het ontbijt is uitgebreid en biedt een mix van Chinese en westerse opties, evenals lokale specialiteiten. Over het algemeen biedt het hotel een uitstekende prijs-kwaliteitverhouding en is het geschikt voor zowel zakenreizen als vakanties. Ik zal dit hotel zeker weer kiezen als ik de volgende keer in Nanjing ben!

Five-Day Stay in Nanjing Check-in Experience We arrived early at around 6 AM due to the difficulty of booking train tickets during the holiday season. Although check-in was at 3 PM, the staff kindly accommodated us with an early check-in for an additional fee. Accommodation We stayed in two types of rooms during our visit: Single Room - Spacious and located in a peaceful, quiet area of the property. RV Room - Situated near the camping area where families and friends gather around a large bonfire for singing, BBQ, and games. **Ratings** Staff: 8/10 - Friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. Shuttle Service: 10/10 - The driver was exceptionally pleasant and always smiling. Since my daughter has asthma and walking long distances is difficult for her, we frequently requested shuttle service between locations. This was especially helpful as ride-share drivers typically drop off at the entrance, which is quite a walk from the rooms and facilities. Breakfast: 10/10 - Excellent variety of traditional Chinese dishes. They were accommodating when my husband requested takeout. Cleanliness: 10/10 - Both rooms were clean, including the beds, towels, and bathrooms. As my daughter’s asthma is triggered by dust, I was pleased that the rooms were clean enough that she didn’t experience any sneezing or symptoms. We all slept well for the entire five days. **Things to Consider** It’s highly recommended to have your own car, as the property is quite far from the city center. If you enjoy nature and outdoor activities, this place is ideal. Activities include: - ATV rides - Fishing area - Playground (note: adults are charged rather than children, so it’s more economical for only one adult to enter) - Small animal area featuring rabbits, ostriches, and llamas (15 RMB entry) - Train ride (30 RMB) The coffee shop has a wonderful atmosphere and aesthetic appeal, making it popular for photos. The property itself is spacious and perfect for leisurely walks. There’s also a temple nearby, approximately 20 minutes away by car. **Challenges We Faced** My daughter developed a fever and experienced diarrhea during our stay. When I called the front desk for help, the staff member wasn’t very accommodating and suggested my husband go buy medicine. This was difficult for us as foreigners who don’t speak the language well. I felt sad and helpless, especially when we couldn’t get any taxis or cabs to pick us up. We wanted to take her to the hospital, but no cabs were available. However, the next morning, a staff member spoke with me who was extremely kind and accommodating. They even offered to drive my daughter to the hospital, which I declined because we needed to catch our train and she was feeling better after taking medicine. They drove us to the South Railway Station and thoughtfully gave my daughter bags and drinks. It was a very kind gesture that we truly appreciated.
