We had a very high expectation of this resort after looking at the website. however the website is out of date, probably pre covid and it was disappointing and we did not feel good value for money. We were expecting 4/5 star but I felt it was nearer 3. The entrance from the road is very unkempt. There used to be tennis courts on the left and they are now derelict. This area of the garden has not been looked after at all. The gym is also locked with no explanation why and the website gives you the impression there is a beach. There is not. At low tide you can walk along to the beach but it is scruffy and full of rubbish. We arrived just after 6pm. reception was in darkness so the security guard went to find someone. We had travelled 4 hours in a taxi so were very relieved to finally arrive but we were greeted with a stony face and were told were were late. The man that checked us in then advised us that evening food had to be ordered by 4pm but he would make an exception if we ordered immediately. Menus were thrust at us in 5 minutes of us being shown to our room. We were given the impression we need to get to the restaurant quickly but that was not the case, we did in fact have plenty of time and could have unpacked and showered first. Food in the restaurant is good quality and tasty but is not, as stated in the website, fine dining. It is also very expensive. The drinks are twice the price of anywhere in town, hence the bar is empty so very little atmosphere. After we had eaten we took some drinks nearer the sea and at 8.40pm all the lights were turned off and the bar was closed leaving us in darkness. The rest of our stay it closed at 9pm. We expected buffet breakfast but were told that as it was quiet that was not possible. The breakfast was plentiful but a little monotonous after a few days. I must give a mention to Ting and JB who both work in the restaurant and made our stay a lot more inviting and comfortable. The room that we stayed in was spacious and had everything we needed, however the bathroom was very dated. The chrome was rusty and the mirror was cloudy, towels poor standard. Very clean though. We had to keep our curtains closed as there was no privacy, people were able to walk right past your window and look in. We enjoyed the pool which was large and inviting. The gardens could be better kept, it all has an air of not being cared for. Pool towels all provided and unlimited drinking water if you refill your flask which is a huge bonus when it is so hot. The diving facilities were excellent. This appears to be where all the money goes in the resort and the guys running it are very knowledgable and well qualified. Snorkelling in the house reef was ok but it's a long way out for inexperience snorkelers and the entry into the water is quite often full of sea**** and plastic. While I appreciate that this can be a daily occurrence with the tides there was no attempt to clear it away which would have taken minutes and made the whole e
