Het hotel heeft een mooie, rustige ligging aan zee. Het drukke Chersonissos kun je op een loopafstand van 15 minuutjes vinden, ideaal! Genoeg te doen, supermarkten op loopafstand en voldoende restaurants en shops te vinden. Het hotel heeft een prima receptie welke 24/7 bemand is en klaar voor je staat. Het eten in het restaurant is wisselvallig, vooral als het gaat om de gaarheid van vlees, kip en vis. Verder is er een ruime keuze, ook aan voorgerechten en desserts! Aan de voorkant aan zee ligt een prima, klein maar fijn 2de restaurant welke zeer geschikt is voor de lunch of voor een lekkere cocktail, top! Ook de bar die tot in de late uurtjes open is heeft prima drankjes, prijzen zijn ook hier gemiddeld. De hotelkamer hierintegen is waarschijnlijk het slechts van alles, waardoor wij op dag 3 van kamer zijn gewisseld om lawaai enigzins te beperken. Helaas is dit niet helemaal gelukt! Kamers zijn zeer gehorig ( je hoort 3 kamers verder tot diep in de nacht meubels schuiven, de tv, het trappenhuis etc ). De bedden zijn ook slecht, het matras is veel en veel te hard, maar het ene kussen wat je krijgt is hierintegen weer veel en veel te zacht! Hier en daar is er zowel in de slaapkamer als in de badkamer hier en daar toch wel achterstallig onderhoud. Al met al een leuke, relaxte vakantie gehad voor 2! Maar wil je net als ons toch graag van wat nachtrust genieten dan is dit hotel niet de juiste keus, ook vinden wij het persoonlijk geen 4-sterren hotel.

The hotel location its near to the sea, in very quiet zone, all the hotel and the rooms are veryi clean , the food excellent, the atention is very friendly. We have been 3 times in that hotel , and only problem was that we reserved only 5 nights, the next time i'm going to reserv 7 nigths

This hotel is set in pretty grounds about a mile north of Hersinossos town. It is not on a bus route but is within a pleasant walk of the main resort to the south. Across the road are small sandy beaches with lovely views along the coast. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well furnished. A good number of them have private pools. We made good use of the pool by the restaurant. The one in the spa was supposedly heated but felt colder than the outdoor unheated one! Our room had a balcony on the top floor of a block towards the top of the site with views across olive groves and towards the sea. The food was delicious with plenty of choice for us vegetarians. The wine list was good and reasonably priced, with decent local wines costing 16 euros and upwards. Very friendly helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay and would be happy to return.

I spent 1 week in Crete this summer . In this trip I stayed at Hersonissos Maris Hotel and Suites. I must say I was very big impressed with the decorations done in the room. It was all so very clean and beautiful.I absolutely loved loved loved dhe decorations. The cleaning staff was there everyday making my stay much more comfortable.They were all very kind and gentle.

This hotel is located in an idyllic surroundings and looks amzing, but looks are deceiving. From my Australian perspective, this is not what I consider a four-star hotel and I will outline the reasons why. The hotel rooms are dark, large and relatively comfortable but there are numerous negatives. In the room there is no tea or coffee and guest have to buy their sachets in the hotel shop for 0.25 euro. No shower caps are provided and to use the safe deposit box which is located in the room guests are charged an extra 21 euros!! I have never experienced this before in a hotel. The food is abundant but of poor quality, badly presented and lukewarm. It is not the beautiful authentic Cretan food available on the island. The hotel seems to cater for German and Eastern Europeans which is reflected in the food. Forget about finding English TV you have to scroll 20 plus channels to one English-speaking news. Overall, not to my standard.

We paid extra for a side sea view room - which was definitely worth the money - towards the sea - obscured by some trees but lovely also above the restaurant and at the front of the hotel so very convenient. The restaurant food was fine - and perfectly hot enough (strange other reviewers found it cold). The pool was lovely - of course there were a few inconsiderate people reserving beds and then disappearing for hours - I think the hotel could solve this quite easily with a sign up or removing towels after an hour. The main negatives I have were regarding the restaurant . 1. Smoking on the balcony - I realise that it is legal but it is really outdated. The hotel could reserve a few tables at one end for people who wished to smoke or didn't mind smoking but having it drift over to the table during the meal really spoilt it for us. Also putting a sign over dishes that are vegetarian would be really helpful as not obvious - they all had a sign anyway (why not add a green sticker for instance). I was told to ask a member of staff but they were not always available and the chef didn't understand my request.

The hotel was in a wonderful position, away from Hersonissos which is not recommended. The staff were very friendly and the room clean although the bathroom was dated and quite dangerous as the shower was over a deep bath which took a lot of manoeuvring for ladies of a certain age! The pools were clean and well kept with no early morning towel on beds to worry about. The only down side was the buffet food whilst plentiful and varied was only luke warm at best even when fresh trays were brought out. The other main complaint was that smoking was allowed on the dining terrace and the tables were close together. If this is to continue perhaps it might be an idea to set aside an area for the smokers so that they can blow smoke over each other.

Lovely hotel and grounds . Had a room with a small balcony with view of mountains and the sea. The bathroom flooded and overflowed from a drain in the floor into the bedroom one night after taking a shower . Typical Greek plumbing. Prompt attention and clearing up. Any problem with the room was dealt with immediately. Rooms were very clean . Reception very helpful. Buffet meals . Breakfast good , evening meal main courses a bit hit and miss on quality.

Just got back from my 20th time at the best hotel in Crete! The staff, management, dinning room cleaning and the amazing rooms with/without a pool This is the just the best hotel to stay for families couples or just solo!
