Tasman Holiday Parks - Miranda

From the time we were welcomed by Dana at reception my husband and I had a very pleasant stay. She gave us very helpful advice regarding the free shuttle to Kaiaua to have dinner. As it was during the week we were able to enjoy the peace and quiet before all the families arrived for the long weekend. The chalets had everything we needed and were clean and comfortable. As an older couple we prefer the comfort and privacy not afforded by the bunk rooms and shared facilities. Hot pool was great and relaxing. Definitely do it again especially now I know that if you stay two nights during the week you get a third night free!

Customer service was fantastic. Amenities top notch, showers are free. Hot pool a added bonus which also is free. Right on the Hauraki Rail trail and close to the Miranda bird sanctuary. The Kaioua hotel will also be pick you up in their courtesy van for dinner.

Fabulous place, very clean toilets etc. Receptionist was really helpful - advised us about bike hire and the best route to take. Stayed in our RV but we had everything needed in site - the hot pool was brilliant! Very quiet site at night, stunning views.

We have stayed here quite a few times over the years. This time we booked a dog caravan site. So we were quite far away from the main areas. The site itself was really wet not good drainage at all. Obviously had a lot of rain but the site could be better. Whenever the dog went outside they got completely muddy. The BIGGEST ISSUE we had was the kids elderly grandparents came to see the kids for a few hours. They were told at the office they had to pay $50 to come and visit. I felt this was ridiculous since they weren’t using any facilities they were simply coming and sitting in our caravan. We paid for the site. It’s our caravan but we couldn’t have them visit. This is obviously a new rule and we understand if people are using the facilities as in the hot pool. But when they have no bags or togs with them it’s obvious they aren’t. Not to mention their age. COMPLETE RIP OFF and has totally put us off coming again. Such a shame as we have enjoyed it in previous years.

Omg dont normaly leave reveiws but these ladies and there amazing care an attenion deserve to be outed. Dana,Christine. the lovely tall blonde tatoo goddess and all the other staff made our stay without them it would have been a good place with them it was a whole better holiday. Didnt feel i was staying at others place it felt like we were staying with very good friends money cant buy that sort of holiday. Just beware if you leave your parsely plant outside your motor home while at pub for dinner you may in the dark try to pick some and find a staff member has swapped it for a plastic peace lilly lol funny buggars real plant back in motorhome safe and sound. A group of 15 fellow hikers had the delight of spending 3 nights at this facility. It’s an amazing facility that suits most budgets. It’s spotlessly clean, quiet and definitely family friendly. The large kitchen and covered outdoor area is great. We appreciated the quick and efficient pizza ovens. The hot pool is pure bliss The location is great. The area is known as the Seabird Coast and it didn’t disappoint. Literally 1000’s of seabirds which travel between NZ and Alaska.

The apartment with private spa was the perfect choice for us to soak our muscles after a day cycling around this unique area. The place was clean and tidy with everything we needed. Friendly staff. We will be back for sure.

We booked online for a group of 7 and had to pay full price to confirm booking ($330). We were meant to camp this weekend but a massive storm is due to hit so we rang on Monday to ask if we could change the booking to another weekend as being in tents while it is storming isn't safe or fun. However the manager on the phone was extremely rude and said we couldn't move the booking or get a refund because we didn't call 14 days prior to the time of our booked stay. Now, there is no 14 day weather reports available and we rang as soon as we were sure the weather was going to be crap. We didn't actually want a refund as we really wanted to try the campground after seeing and hearing such good reviews. However we weren't allowed to move the booking either. We have lost the full payment for the campsite which is extremely disappointing given our reasoning for wanting to move the booking is weather which is out of our control. I understand they are a business and need to make money but it seems unfair to not move our booking to another weekend where they would still retain our money. Utterly disappointed and now because of the way we have been treated we and our family will not be experiencing the campground.

The place was so beautiful and perfect for family get away . They have an excellent spacious accomodation with a clean comfortable bed-spacers. Clean geothermal pool and spa bath for relaxations close to Auckland . We had a great birthday celebration experienced to this place and wanted to come back again. Highly recommended for everyone.
