This is a gorgeous hotel with beautiful chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds. Thus is one of my favorite hotels in Milwaukee.

The hotel is very beautiful & old! Our room was 100 degrees & we could not cool it down. No small fridge in the room, king room. No toilet paper. No hot tub, but that's my fault for not checking that. Also, we had to pay for parking, $40 per day. No one asked how our stay was when checking out.

This is a wonderful National Historic Trust Hotel that has been restored to its original beauty and history. There are several dining options from a very expensive top restaurant in the City to reasonably priced Pubs for a downtown location. Its easy to walk, take the bus, or ride the free trolly just a couple blocks away.

I'd say that this hotel falls below the standard that I expect from a Hilton. It was probably quite the opulent hotel back in it's day, but it's showing a lot of wear. The front desk service was quite good and the beds were comfortable. On the negative side, the bathrooms are very smallz the hot water was barely adequate, there were runs in the carpet, my TV couldn't tune into most of the HD TV channels, and they didn't even provide drinking glasses in the room. I also didn't appreciate their "eco" attempt to get out of cleaning my room each day even though I'm paying for this service.

Pricing for parking seemed to be whatever the check-in person wanted to offer that day. I was with a group...all of us booked through Travelocity. I was charged $38/night for parking, another family was charged $16/night and yet another family was charged $10/night. When asked, they just told us it was what it was. Then, I went to park in the ramp in the afternoon of my stay and it was full...they told me I had to go to a ramp about a block and a half away and pay again.

Very disappointing. First I did not realize I booked through a third party so from the start I was frustrated because my Hilton Honors did not count. I actually changed from staying at the Hyatt because I was able to stay in an executive king suite for a similar price at the Hyatt. I have never not had 2 bottles of water in my room. There was nothing. I mean as an honors member I expect those things. I don’t think it should matter that I could not get points. I paid for an executive king suite. There were zero perks with that and I regret it. Staying at the Hyatt I would have had more perks. Also, and to me the biggest issue, was that there are 2 very nice televisions in my suite and not one of them had access to something as simple at Netflix. We had like 40 total channels and no guide to see what was o. Or anything. So disappointing. Some activities we had planned were canceled due to the snow so it would have been nice to enjoy a movie or something. Either way, at the price we pay and the times we live in I would never have thought I would have needed an HDMi cable to enjoy something that simplistic.
Also the food at the Monarch Lounge was horrible. Steak bites wrapped in bacon were dried out and tasteless. All around disappointing stay. Sorry Hilton you can do better.
