The hotel obviously not a resort as indicated in HGV site is so not up to Hilton standard. I checked in in an evening and barely managed through the night. Had to check out the next morning and moved in to a Marriot hotel close by. Did not even complain to anyone as I was speechless, had to sacrifice all the points and didn't even care. Reason being that I was surprised that the hotel could be in a Hilton brand. The hotel is very old and precisely my room was neat as that was not the issue. However, there was this smell that I couldn't explain and would not go away despite spraying air freshener and even my perfume to see if I could relax. To crown it all, the room assigned to me was in a kind of backyard and being claustrophobic, I could not relax. Lastly, the water coming out of the tap felt weird on my skin, it was as if it was drawing and wouldn't wash off the soap on your hand or skin. The room was also very small in general as I booked for a 1 bedroom suite and both the room and sitting room area could barely make a decent sized room for a Hilton's standard hotel suite. Being a Gold member, I think I have stayed in enough Hilton hotels all over the world to be able to trust anyone I book anywhere irrespective of what the rating says. I mentioned rating because, the hotel was rated very high, a 4.5 which is quite high. I had to read through over the night to notice that the hotel management wrote a kind if disclaimer and put a lot of responsibility on external sources like 'TripAdvisor'. The rating was not only high but was said to have a beach when it didn't even have a swimming pool. Hilton can do better than this if they have to retain the trust of her customers. Not fair that you go in and book the highest rated resort in a place like Miami beach through the HGV site itself and not even exchange, then you get a hotel like that, that's not even up to 1 star simply because the deal is kind of irrevocable. It was a very bad experience and I was really disappointed at the Hilton brand. Yes, I stayed a few more days in the Marriot hotel but I already lost my Mojo for the vacation. A big brand like Hilton should be able to scrutinize every property in their franchise and upgrade to standard if need be, else, doubts will start creeping in. In Miami beach pf all places...common....too poor. Also, ensure the brands are marketed fairly and not overblown with fake pictures and inaccurate information. So, not a very pleasant experience from a brand I love so much!!!! Hope the management takes this serious! Hope this helps! Ebele
