Voor een goede overnachting in Meknes ben je bij Riad Mama aan het goede adres! Wij parkeerden in de straat beneden, dat kost je wel een hele klim naar de Riad toe (parkeren kost 20 dirham). Google Maps stuurt je dwars door de Medina en smalle straatjes, dat is onmogelijk en het drukke verkeer bezorgt je stress, voorkom dat dus. De eigenaren zijn heel erg aardig en meedenkend. De kamer is prima, geen contact met de buitenlucht helaas en erg veel lichtinval, maar dat zijn we inmiddels gewend. Als je hier verblijft, ga dan ook eten bij restaurant Aisha

Een prima riad in de medina van Meknes. Volgens de riad kun je voor de deur parkeren, maar in onze ogen is dit onmogelijk met alle kleine straatjes die je dan door moet. Wij hadden onze auto op de parking aan de grote straat neergezet en hebben het laatste stukje gelopen. De riad heeft goede tips voor restaurantjes en serveert een prima ontbijt. Op het dakterras heb je een mooi uitzicht over de stad.

Other reviews were right. Worst stay in my life. We found bed bugs and roaches all over the place. Place looks nice but when you turn off the lights is when the party gets started. We had to pack our bags at 3am and wake the kids up to leave. Owner was extremely rude as others mentioned, he never even apologized, he rather told us to keep it down so the others don't hear us and he asked us to go to a hotel if we weren't happy. Also it is a lie that parking is available and private, there's no parking and we had to walk through the rocky narrow allies with our luggage and bags for over 10min to get to the door. No hot water in the rooms at all. The deck/roof was a scam, it was dusty, closed, and full of construction material nothing like advertised. Before we left they asked us to say that we had a no show so that they don't have to pay any commission or fees, that's all they worried about. Horrible stay and an even worse service, would NOT recommend.

The manager and worker were very sweet and we loved the look of the property/the rooms but we were disappointed when I couldn't get my toilet to flush (it finally did but then the water ran the entire time), the hot water to work or electricity to be reliable. Also, as nice as the staff was, they spoke no English at all which was difficult. If it wasn't for my broken Arabic, it would have been impossible to communicate with them.

The inside of the Riad is cute and when I have taken guests in the past, they really liked it. It was what they expected of Morocco. But there are also inconveniences and disappointments. Too far into the medina for parking, so get lucky finding a street spot, carrying in your stuff and finding. Dark, depressing, but you could turn on lights. Heater worked, but not the TV. Shower a trickle and you had to hug the wall to get wet. Breakfast too late for us, so no idea if good. Jaime nice, and gave his personal WhatsApp number (which i dont have) in case we needed help. There was another young man on property to open the door when we returned from dinner. Nothing bad, just not really worth repeating again.

Very friendly and clean, in the heart of the old city walking distance to everything. If you like the historic place to stay in this is the one.

Photos are deceptive - Parking is a mile away. The only way to get to the Riad is by walking uphill on a steep filthy road. It is dark and dinghy inside. It was so bad that we had to abandon it and go stay elsewhere.

This was not our first Riad Experience but certainly the worst. The access to this place uphill about 1/2 a mile through a narrow smelly, filthy alley. Parking is advertised but is a mile away. They advertise a restaurant but don't have one. They will direct you to some place down the street. There are no rooms at the ground floor. Every room needs you to climb up stairs. We had three rooms reserved at this property and decided to abandon it and move to a different place.

The staff met us at the market to escort us to the hotel. Awesome. Very appreciated. The breakfast was Devine and customer service was fantastic. Definitely on my list to stay at upon my return. Enjoy. 👍
