Tiny, squeaky, outdated room with no proper heating. One ceiling mounted heater/ac unit which took about 6 hours to properly heat the room. Wife was freezing the entire time. Besides the floors being squeaky they also curled up in some areas due to moisture maybe being trapped in the room. The shower/bathroom was so badly designed that after every shower the water would drip down from the walls and mirror and the entire floor would be wet and slippery, and on top of that no floor mats, nor hangers for face towels. The only hanger they had was one on the door itself which was covered with other people’s hair. Mold in the corners everywhere. Didn’t even want to hang my towel on a hook that’s how gross I found this place. We all got woken up Thursday morning by their Gardner mowing grass for 45 min outside our room, and Friday morning by the smell of Terpentin from the painters doing work on the property. Now if this wasn’t enough already, after bringing up all our concerns to the staffs attention. We were just told to wait for the manager. Instead of just sending someone to check the heater, clean the room, possibly switch rooms (which wouldn’t have made a difference), give us a floor mat, they just said, we can’t let you cancel early. I’m not a fussy person in the slightest. I’ve been to youth hostels cleaner than this place, and for the price of $285 a night I can assure everyone there are really nice luxury boutique hotels up the street in Santa Monica.

Adorable hideaway. Staff was super friendly. Room was very clean and had a comfortable bed and faux fireplace. Beautiful view and roomy. I will definitely stay again.

Cozy, quiet room with electric fire place. TV wasn’t hooked up. Tub faucet brace was damaged where it came out of the wall. Jets worked well. Otherwise, good night’s stay.

Only real issue was the tv. 2 remotes. One option - roku bs tv. Did they have cable and the staff didnt know how to put it on?

Beautiful and quiet place to stay right off of the PCH. Super nice accommodations and easy access.

The lady at the reception was great, but unfortunately the property is not well maintained. We booked an ocean view suite which looked nice on the pictures, but not in reality. The ocean view was pretty much a small sliver of far far away ocean view over the roof of the other rooms. I would not say that what was advertised was an ocean view at all. The room we got was outdated, dirty, the electrical sockets couldn't hold a phone charger as they were quite loose, the fireplace didn't work and it had a warning tape over the switch. There was a heat/AC until in the room which didn't work either which made our stay very uncomfortable as we were super cold all night. Also, the bed and the pillows were very stiff.

More reasonably priced for the area. Close to beaches and shopping. Our room was small but very clean with updated bathroom, newly painted walls. Parking tricky as property is on a hilltop. Only negative was some plantation shutters that needed repair and some handles that needed tightening. Very nice inn keeper.

Location was good and room was clean and comfortable. Slight view of ocean was lovely. Room wasn't cleaned after 1st night of two night stay. Front desk said there was no cleaning staff for that day. Two broken shudders on windows. All night flood lights shown through our room at night. Overall, it appeared the hotel had seen better days and was operating on short staff.
