The Terrace Hotel

Shocking experience, where to start ripped carpet in the room, bathroom light not working. Evening meal very poor, described as crispy pork belly if was far from crispy extremely under cooked. When asked did we want desert we said can we look at the menu after receiving the menu we waited for 40min but no one returned to take our order, worth saying by this time the bar had gotten busy due to 2 events happening ( 1 of which was the reason we were at the hotel ), this in no way impacted the tables as most people where queuing at the bar for service. After waiting for 40 minutes at the table we decide lets just pay for the food and move on into the function room. Even trying to pay at the bar took another 20 minutes as the 3 bar staff where all over the place clearly not able to cope with the amount people present.

Very nice stay and friendly staff. I checked in with 18 American guests of our ‘Essential Ireland’ Tours and Charlene provided us with a very warm and professional mid-Ulster welcome. Paddy was also very helpful to my guests and I and we enjoyed the central location. Thank you.

Rubbish, filthy place to stay. We found old vapes down the back of the bed. Bathroom was filthy and nothing worked. Iron didn't heat up properly, table lights didn't work. The place was awful 😖 Breakfast!! What an disaster 😑 My 9 year old son asked to change his handful of greasy mushrooms and a half a fried tomato for an egg. To be told absolutely not, no swaps allowed. I asked for an extra egg..nope that was allowed.....I asked for the mushrooms and tomato to be left off his plate as he didn't like them......nope that was acceptable either, He can push them to the side, I don't have time for that, is what I was told !! I paid nearly £800 for two rooms for me and my family and I've never been so disappointed in my life. So to the lady, if we can call her that, that's served, breakfast on the Sunday morning to us. I say served....even though you didnt, you grunted and spoke through the spaces in your teeth....YOUR IN THE WRONG JOB Your manor and lack of service was rude and ignorant.

Worst hotel I've stayed in. Beds were really high and mattress very hard. The room had patches on the ceiling. Cracks on ceiling. Bathroom full of cobwebs and few insects crawling around the bath. Tea facilities kettle didn't work. For the price of the room would exp ect higher standard of cleanliness

Rooms very basic, definitely needs some love. Net curtains, cobwebs in the corners, curtains let a a lot of light in and very noisy next to the road. Breakfast was 3/10 maximum, asked for scrambled egg on my fry up and told no even though one of the other options on the menu was scrambled egg. Told it was too busy in the kitchen. The 2 girls running breakfast were stretched so no plates and cutlery available and orange juice ran out. When breakfast came it was poor, bacon undercooked, eggs rubbery and just looked a bit sad! Overall I’d say a pretty average stay but if you need somewhere to rest your head it’s fine, staff were nice

This is my second visit to this hotel. The staff are super friendly and really are all very helpful. The food is AMAZING!! Believe me, I don’t give that accolade out easily. I am on meal three and it really is outstanding. Every dish I’ve had has abundant flavours, really well thought out. Then there is the dessert. You MUST try this. Cannot wait to return.

I visited Magherafelt yesterday afternoon with a friend. After some medical appoin**ents it was about 3.30 and we were famished. Drove into the carpark at side of the hotel and ventured in via reception. Apparently their lunch servings finish at 3 and dinner service starts 5. A staff member went and checked in the kitchen if food was available and soooo thankful the staff member came back smiling and said yes. Were led to the bar area and seated. Drinks offered and menus given. Both of us ordered burger and chips. 10 -15 mins later food arrived. Honestly it was delicious. Big fat fresh steak burgers and loads of chips. Well garnished burger and cutlery and napkins were superior quality. Whole environment was sparkling clean and staff very friendly attentive and helpful. The food, 1 tea and decaf latte was 29.00. Same as 2 burgers and 1 gravy chip in local chip shops! Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would def recommend a visit for a relaxed comfortable clean environment.

I visited here recently for afternoon meal.There were a few customers seated at tables.I asked the pleasant young girl behind the bar if I could I have a meal. She advised to take a seat and she would bring me a menu. She was then overruled by another older member of staff who told us that there was no food available as the kitchen closes between 3pm and 5pm. The website states that food is available all day, so I was shocked to be told this. I contacted the hotel directly by email but they didn't even bother to acknowledge me. Needless to say I won't be rushing back. Nonetheless Magherafelt is a thriving town with lots of friendly people and good places to eat.

we went to the terrace for a couple of drinks as a beautiful evening. ordered a cocktail and a pint, waiting 20 minutes and no sign of our drinks to be then told they didnt have the cranberry. if serving drinks you should have the ingredients in stock it was almost empty so not busy. We went somewere else with better service. Wont be back.
