It was good but probably can have better quality of furniture

Avoid this hotel. Upon checkin there was chaos with colleagues as they had clearly oversold the hotel rooms. My room was only half made up. Missing towels, soap, etc and the floors hadn’t been cleaned as covered in hairs. Unfortunately I looked under the bed (see photo). Bed sheets so thin you needed a blanket but mine were missing. The 2nd day I asked them to clean and leave me a blanket only to arrive back late after a business evening event to find the room hadn’t been touched and was still filthy. Thankfully I was checking out the next day. I’ve stayed before and it wasn’t this bad but I’ve been told the new management are to blame.

The only reason I did not give it a five star: in the mornings I woke up early and went up to have breakfast. I tried to pick a a cup of tea and some fruits for my wife, who does not like elevators (the restaurante is in the top floor) and I could not. The hotel has a policy in place that prohibits anyone of taking any food or drink away from the restaurant, even if breakfast is already included in the room price! This is the most ridiculous policy I have ever seen in a hotel!

SOME of the staff was very friendly and attentive.
Had some internet issues and they moved quickly to resolve.
Major issue with cleanliness, it the first room I was assigned, while unpacking my clothes and putting in closet, i found a plastic bag inside and upon checking there was a CONDOM in the bag.. This obviously left me doubts as the cleaning staff capabilities.
There was also an alarm that tripped at least once a day, very annoying after a 36hr journey, where I wanted to rest for meetings the following day

Hotel is very tired and dated now. Lots of things not working or broken. Guess we were a bit unlucky because restaurant was shut for refurb. Breakfast delivered to room was pretty poor.

The team at the Comfort Suites Macaé is simply excellent. They maintain high standards to make your stay relaxing and easy. At one point, they managed to open the gym to suit my crazy schedule. Other highlights: the breakfast room on the top floor where you have the impression that you are hovering over the beach. Too cool. My room's view from the balcony was pretty magical too. For someone who is Nordic to gaze at a tropical beach every morning in March receives an extremely high score. In addition, the reception staff were a key to me feeling looked after as my Portuguese is rather at the naissant phase. :) They always had a friendly greeting for me. Thanks to them, it was my home away from home for a month and I hope ever so much to return there.

Horrible, horrible, horrible... even for the lowest standards. Bad internet, no hot water, dusty floor in the room, poor condition, musty smell. Do not come. Use to be a good hotel up to 2019 to 2020.

Initially impressed, consequently disappointed.
We got a queen sized bed but bedding seemed for a double bed.
They quote water conservation but the toilet only had option to fully flush.
Tried to book a taxi on departure and was given 2 taxi company cards. One did not respond the other was unobtainable. When we asked for the desk staff to phone for us they declined. We were fortunate that an Uber driver dropped someone off while we waited and agreed to take us. Abysmal treatment, never experienced this in my life travelling around the world for 20 years.
On a plus size, great location, great breakfast.
