This was my second stay at the Guide Post and, as last time, the people make the place welcoming and warm. Perfectly placed for our needs, the rooms were comfortable although decor is a little dated now. Breakfast was always piping hot and a great way to start the day.

The room we were allocated was very small. The bed was uncomfortable, noisy when moving, tiny bathroom.

All the staff are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They all go the extra mile to ensure that you have everything you need to make your staff with them pleasurable.

Beware when booking that there is a DJ that doesn’t stop until 1am. Family rooms are right above it! I didn’t realise on booking this was the case unfortunately meaning very little sleep for us and our little girl. Breakfast was lovely and staff were friendly though. On the basis of the noise it’s just not worth it and wouldn’t ever go back.

Decided to stay as we could have a family room. However the room was noisy due to traffic and the industrial estate (we know that the hotel can’t control environmental noise but there was no mention on any literature) wouldn’t have been as bad if the hotel had fans in the rooms/air conditioning. Had to remind staff about having extra pillows having requested them. Room seemed clean h til we moved a bedside table so that it was accessible for the single bed and there was dust. Was pleasing to see signs regarding reusing towels but then immediately under individually plastic wrapped plastic cups. Warm Veggie option in the bar was also poor.

Stayed here before and did so again as its a nice hotel. However this time, after checkout the service was nothing short of disgusting. I was told my invoice would be emailed. Fine. 2 days later when it hadnt arrived, the receptionist was arguing saying I had to get it from ********* when I paid in the hotel. She eventually hung up and refused to answer when I called back but later emailed the invoice. So apart from a nice stay, make sure you get your invoice if you pay local as the service is very poor
