The Falcon Inn

A nice bustling atmosphere for a mid-week family meal - plenty of people in the restaurant but not so busy to prevent us having a good meal. The food was fine but the portion sizes were rather strange - some meals considerably bigger than others. Ham egg & chips was huge, while sausages and mash looked like a child's portion when it arrived.

Warm welcome for our December "date" night. Table for two in a quiet part of the pub/restaurant which was very busy with what appeared to be staff parties (its that time of year you know). The food was as good as we might have expected but nothing out of the ordinary and good value. The experience would have been better if we were asked during the meal if everything was OK as we had a couple of minor irritations. The starter of parfait was excellent large portions of pate, marmalade and butter but there was just not enough toast to go with it - another slice of toast would have been appropriate. I do believe that Parmentier potatoes should be crispy. Unfortunately when they are served in a bowl rather than on a plate the potatoes ****** up the sauce accompanying the Hake and so any crispyness (if that's a word) went out of the window so to speak. So why did I not feedback at the time. A. We weren't asked for feedback whilst eating B. We're British we don't make a fuss! Would we go back again in the future - yes but there are plenty of similar places around this part of the world.

We stayed one night in the Falcon, due to a tournament in Nottingham. What a find. Just excellent. Highly recommend. Staff were so polite and helpful( especially Zoe) . On arrival we we warmly greeted. Pub was filled with happy locals. Cruzcampo (my favourite) on tap. We ate there and food was excellent. Open kitchen great staff ( especiallly Zoe) and chefs. We went to our room, (1) it was excellent. Beds were so comfortable. We slept so well. Lovely courtyard setting behind the Inn. Well away from any pub noise. As we had an early start. The chef did us a take away sandwich ( thank you) instead of breakfast. In all a great place and we would highly recommend this Inn. 👍

My husband and I overnighted at the Falcon on our way from Scotland to the Channel ferry at Dover. The location was perfect for us as we were visiting friends in South Yorkshire and Northamptonshire. The Falcon was a great choice. It's also obviously very popular with locals as there was a happy crowd there on the evening we checked in. We ate in the bar and had a delicious meal. The salmon was among the best I have ever tasted and their choice of breakfasts was impressive and delicious. Our room was very comfortable and it was great to be able to park our car right outside it. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful. We definitely made the right choice with the Falcon. It's also near East Midlands Airport, so it's worth considering if you are flying from there.

Very friendly hotel. Had a lovely weekend at this very friendly and accommodating hotel. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff went out of their way to make our staff perfect. Breakfast was amazing too. Thank you and hopefully see you soon

Just experienced an excellent Sunday lunch, at The Falcon- tomato soup perfect, calamari, duck Bon Bon’s along with shrimps including a chilli/ Mayo dip , fresh salad , garlic mushroom with Parmesan flakes all 10/10 . Mains Roast Pork, Rib of Beef , and a trio of meats. All with Fresh yorkies , Rosties cauliflower cheese greens and carrot along with a Bottle of French Merlot . A credit to The Kitchen , along with ALL staff even the gardener 😉. Keep up the good work and home to see you again soon. The Moorcroft’s
