The Days Inn is located a short walking distance from Paddington station whichbis handy to connect to train or with the new Elisabeth line to Heathrow airport. The hotel is situated in a row of small hotels in buidings that once upon a time where large houses for wealthy families. The room was clean with small toilet/bathroom, tv, coffee tea making facilities and hairdryer. Breakfast included, was simple but more than sufficient. My room was located in the basement but the hotel has several floors connected by lift and stairs. Overall definitely value for money in a city that is normally very expensive, I will definitely return.

The morning after our first night my friend and I noticed a bug crawling on one of the beds, we continued our investigation and noticed DOZENS of those crawling all over the twin beds we just spent the night in. We were exhausted the night before after coming back to hotel late and after having shower just jumped straight into beds - who would have thought we weren’t they only ones spending night in those beds! Quick research after our findings and we realised that those were BEDBUGS! Never in my life had I come across anything like this before, not even after being a student and staying at questionable hostels! We reported this to the reception and were offered another room. We didn’t move immediately in the morning and made an agreement that we would move in the evening when we would be back to the hotel. Coming back in the evening and reporting to the reception for a new room, we found one of the evening staff being rude to us and questioning if the bedbugs were from their hotel (like what?!?!?!?). Simple, we said, because we had photo and video evidence of bedbugs crawling all over the beds, we said! This quickly ended her argument with us. We then moved to our new room, where there was no obvious evidence of bedbug infestation, however being a reportedly new room, we found hair all over the floor in the bathroom of that allegedly “cleaned” new room. Unfortunately, being an extremely sensitive to cleanness person and following the events of the previous night, I decided to leave early and not spent another night in this disgusting hotel. My friend, who had a flight early next morning however had no chance and spend a little longer and left at 04am. The evening I decided to leave I started coming out in rash, which had only been getting worse ever since. The intensity of the itch is like nothing I’d ever experienced before - it stops me from sleeping, it drives me absolutely mad, no matter how much I try, one can’t look professional when they have bite marks all over their body, including the face, ears, neck, fingers, hands, forearms - ie areas one can’t cover up - and needing to constantly scratch herself! This obviously has affected my work! And the itch is no better even 6 days later!! In fact, the bite marks are now swollen, causing swelling of my fingers, the scratch marks are now bleeding and I am the most irritated I’ve ever been! Let me emphasise, this is six days later and I genuinely don’t know how much longer I’m yet to suffer! I have obviously filed a complaint and have been contacted by the hotel - they are “kindly” offering to compensate the cost of my medication (as I am now on antihistamines - which don’t work really, as I can’t take the stronger type due to its sedating effect, as I have to continue working and driving; as well as steroid cream) and the cost of my dry cleaning. HOWEVER, despite multiple email exchanges and telephone consultations, they are not planning to refund a 100% of our payment, the argument being

I recently returned from a 7 night stay at this hotel and felt compelled to add my positive comments to other reviewers who felt the same. I spent many years in the travel industry so went on my trip with an open mind especially after having read some negative reviews. ALL staff were polite and professional, from the gentlemen on reception to the hardworking, diligent staff in the dining room. I also wish to say a special thank you to the wonderful lady who cleaned our room who my friend and I met at the end of our stay. The jewel in the crown of the Alexandra Hotel in my opinion and that of my travelling companion is without doubt the staff. Thank you one and all, we will definitely be returning! Few points that may help in deciding whether this hotel is for you are… Our room was of reasonable size, recently renovated, and had all the amenities you would expect. Bath with overhead shower and hot water at ALL times. This is something that I have found lacking in a number of London hotels in which I have stayed. Comfortable beds which weren’t on wheels, we requested extra pillows which were in our room the next day. Tea/coffee facilities which were replenished daily. Large fan mounted on wall which we were grateful for as it was very warm during our stay. TV Hairdryer Plenty of wardrobe, cupboard and drawer space. Excellent location being only a few minutes walk from the station. Variety of restaurants within a few minutes walk, for those who enjoy Mediterranean cuisine check out the Paramount Lebanese Kitchen on London Street, excellent food, well priced! Finally, although there is no storage room as such the hotel has an area at the side of reception desk where luggage can be stored. We took advantage of this without any problem.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Executive lounge was good, with lots of typical morning choices, clean and well attended by staff. Did not use lounge in the evenings. Very friendly lobby bar with excellent martinis. Had a pizza at the lobby bar one night which was marginal and undercooked. Hotel is in a fair location for shopping and is walkable to Paddington Station. Lots of food choices including a gaggle of Pakistani restraints along Edgware Road, more toward Hyde Park. Overall a nice stay and well worth a return visit.

Great location and lovely hotel. Challenges with service though. You need to carry your own bags upon arriving as there are steps leading to the entrance. Housekeeping does not do a proper job in their daily routine of repleneshing the amenities. The executive double room l stayed was perfect in size. If you are not too fussy, ideal place to stay. Train station is just a few minutes walk.

Hotel is pretty old but has everything you need for a nice stay in London. Very easy to go to and from Heathrow airport, like 15 minutes. Hotel is literally in Paddington train station too. They provide shower gel and shampoo but not a toothbrush but I’m sure you could ask for one. There’s a supermarket called Tesco which is quite close to buy cheap food and drinks. Some other restaurants are nearby too. They let me check in early which I was really grateful for. Also, they provide a 24/7 gym which is good when you need detox or relax. Overall, a decent hotel.

The location of the hotel is very close to the subway station, easy access, there are many restaurants and convenience stores nearby The rooms are large in size, neat and clean, and you can see the street view if you live in a high-rise building.

Breakfast is good. Book 10 pounds a day early, and don't plan to go directly to 15 pounds the next day. There is a parking lot. The neighborhood is quiet and about 15 minutes (walking) from Paddington Station
